more info - NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED opening remote file
Thanks to those who had suggestions on my last post, but none of those seems to have worked. I have narrowed down the problem a bit though, seems users can't write to a share that is not their primary group. For example: Bob's primary group is Bob and secondary group is Sally. Bob can write to the Bob group share but not the Sally group share. Anymore thoughts/suggestions. Thanks

Samba4 CUPS: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED opening remote file
I'm setting up cups printing with Samba 4.0.5. I downloaded both the windows drivers and the postscript drivers and put them into /usr/share/cups/drivers/. I configured cups through the web interface. Created a printer and printed a test page. I edited smb.conf and put in the necessary entries for cups printing: [global] ... load printers = yes

Write-only share and "NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED closing remote file" error
I'm trying to get a write-only share with sever version 3.2.5 (Debian Lenny updated). I'm doing this with a "chmod 0770" on the directory, owned by root and group "mysambagroup". The samba user with write permission on the share is in the "mysambagroup" group and the share is like this: read only = no create mask = 0000 inherit owner = yes path = /sambashare

samba_kcc RODC failes with NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Hello list, I try to fix my issue and found some more debug information: 1) I see error in this situation: Default-First-Site-Name: - TEST-DC (RWDC) Testsite2: - empty Testsite: - BUILDHOST (RODC) If I move TEST-DC to Testsite2, it fix the error, maybe because of 2). 2) python/samba/kcc/__init__.py:create_connections function try always to connect to Default-First-Site-Name, although

Samba 3.6.9: spoolss_connect_to_client: unable to open the spoolss pipe on machine WINDOWS-SERVER-2.WINDOWS. Error was : NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED.
Trying to get a printer server running Samba 3.6.9 (On CentOS 6.5) going. Trying to add said printers to a Windows Server 2012 machine prior to deploying to a network of Windows 8.1 laptops. Definitely making progress; finally figured out the initial permissions issue I was having (combination of a winbind separator and using the wrong group prefix and syntax for user lists in an AD context), but

Strange problem: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Hi, we have a very strange behaviour today. On of our clustered (by heartbeat) samba server don't want provide shares anymore. Every user is blocked with message "access denied". So I thought there is a problem with mapping of users/groups. But wbinfo / id / getent are working fine. Do I move the share to another node everything works fine - the shared folders and the smb.conf

ACLs, NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED, etc.
Hey, all. I've got some irksome issues, and would love it if someone could show me where I'm going wrong. First and foremost, I can access the folders, create new ones, etc. But copying stuff from an existing Windows share (with ACLs), not so much. Likewise when I try to assign permissions. I wind up with stuff like [2010/12/01 02:56:34, 0]

NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED making remote directory
Vital Stats - AMD 64-bit CPU, Ubuntu 7.0.4 (Feisty Fawn), Samba 3.0.24, Win2003 AD Domain If I've left anything out, please feel free to ask. This *was* working yesterday until my Kerberos ticket expired. (growl) Anyway, now that Kerberos appears to be working again, all of my users still only have read access - no write access. The "temp" test works fine. Exactly as expected

UPDATE - NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED making remote directory
Well, I've discovered something and I'm not sure how to make it stop doing it. When a user "logs in" they get an automatically assigned group of "domain users" which doesn't actually exist in any of the file permissions. I've tried setting group = %G and force group = %G but neither one is working. If anyone knows how to suppress this, I'd be greatly

Samba working (has been for years) but logs full of NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Hi. My samba server is working for everybody but the logs are full of "NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED" messages So I turned logging a little higher and found out what shares/files are accessed when this happens. It, too, happens not to ALL users. I see this: guest user (from session setup) not permitted to access this share (TestPrograms) [2015/03/17 16:00:58.165672, 1]

Shared printing between Linux (client) and Windows (server): NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Try this. Check the enabled Guest account, go to Devices and Printers in Control Panel, right click on the network shared default printer and select Printer properties. Next select the Security tab on the Printer Properties page, and you should see Everyone in the list of users. Check the permissions for Everyone. At minimum, Print should be checked in the Allow check box. The print

NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED with ADS + Kerberos
I'm trying to setup Samba in ADS security mode so I can run winbind for NSS and Kerberos for user authentication, chiefly for shell accounts for developers. These hosts will not provide any file or printer services, at least in the near-term. My hosts are CentOS 3 (a free RHEL3 clone) and my ADS servers are Windows 2000 (not 2003), in hybid mode. I am using stock RPMs for both Kerberos and
