Difficulties with samba and ADS
Hello. I thought I had this fixed 3 times now... but it keeps coming up. I have 2 smbservers that are part of an ADS domain (windows 2003 server). I have my samba servers set up, and it works great for a month or so, then it starts giving smbmount and smbclient a hard time. This is very bad news because I rely upon smbmount heavily. When I try to view the shares my main server, and use the

Samba loose the user forward as member Server
Hi, Is your replication between you PDC and you member server working? You can run "samba-tool drs showrepl". Which should help you determine if the replication is functioning correctly. Here is a related link to the Samba wiki that may help :-) https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_Troubleshooting Best Regards, - Rylan On Wed, Sep 21, 2016 at 2:32 AM, admins aixtema via

Samba working (has been for years) but logs full of NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Hi. My samba server is working for everybody but the logs are full of "NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED" messages So I turned logging a little higher and found out what shares/files are accessed when this happens. It, too, happens not to ALL users. I see this: guest user (from session setup) not permitted to access this share (TestPrograms) [2015/03/17 16:00:58.165672, 1]

samba/winbind/apache/sso question
I have been trying to get SSO to work correctly with the following packages, and I appear I am missing something and I was wondering if anyone can help me or point me in the right direction? I am currently using the "auth_ntlm_winbind_module" for apache to try and authenticate and was hoping to get SSO to work. I have gone through all the steps on SEVERAL sites trying to figure out how

samba and proftpd authentication
Hey List- Since samba is in the middle..trying here first. I have a samba FreeBSD box as just a member server which was authenticating against a samba PDC. For other reasons we migrated that to a Win2003 ADS box. I got the member server to join the ADS domain and users who are logged in can browse the shares, etc... without issue. The problem I have is that proftpd (via PAM) is no longer

WinXP3: NBNS query: non-exist; Wireshark: "'NB ?'<00>" & "'NB ?'<20>"
I'm getting some odd queries from a WinXPSP3 client to an older samba (3.2.0-24) Domain & File server running on linux kernel (2.6.27.19). The client seems to be querying for a netbios name <literal-question mark> followed by binary 0 (<00>) to the DomainServer, or Broadcasting the query with the '?' followed by a space <20>. Version 3.0.33-3.29.el5_5 + Winbind: UNIX group as valid users
I have setup a Centos5.5 VMWare guest with Samba and Winbind for Active Directory integration, using GUI tools. Authentication works flawlessly, with automatic home directory creation. What I want to achieve now is using local UNIX groups to controll access to shared folders. smb.conf global section: workgroup = COGITANS password server = domainserver.hq.cogitans.it realm = HQ.COGITANS.IT

Can't login samba domain from xp/2k
Hello everybody. I am having troubles to log on a samba domain from winxp and win 2000 workstations. I patched the registry with the requiresignorseal=0, changed the local and group policies (following various comments found on the web), and added the machine account for samba (obviously, /etc/passwd too). I tried with samba 3.0.7, 3.0.10 and 3.0.13, Winxp with and without sp2, and win200

force group broken in 3.0.14?
I've got some problems with file access control on a linux-server with samba 3.0.14a compiled from a src-rpm. This is the method I've been using for the past 5-6 releases. It's a redhat 8.0 machine and the kernel version is 2.4.30. The problems seem to have appeared since upgrading from 3.0.13. Symptom 1: When using force group on a share, users from the two groups edb and

REofRE: password change on the domain password server using clienttools
Hi Lieven Thanks for advise ! the getent passwd command shows me all the users of the 2k domain in this format : DOMAIN2K+user:x:10000:10026::/home/NetBiosName/user:/bin/bash I think that's correct. But do you think I got to use nss pam or something like that ? I just can't login with a 2000 user on Samba, but guests (unknown users ) can, when I permit them to. So I think users are

rsync 3.0.9 compile --copy-devices --write-devices not working
Hi Folks, i recently try to use rsync on devices. The goal is to sync two logical volumes without copy the whole. According to http://gitweb.samba.org/?p=rsync-patches.git;a=tree write-devices.diff copy-devices.diff should do the job. I downloaded https://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/rsync-3.0.9.tar.gz and tried to apply the two .diff from your gitweb resulting in: write-devices.diff:

Phabricator new review email behaviour change?
Hi, Is it me, or has Phabricator changed at some point in the past week or two with regards to emails for newly created reviews? I noticed this morning that my mailing rule (which previously simply marked new emails from review at reviews.llvm.org with a specific tag) was no longer working for them, and consequently, I missed several new review requests. (It wasn't an issue for subsequent
