hi all I have compiled and running the latest samba (2.2.2) cause i need ldap authentication from samba. Things are working fine but when I browse the server from a windows client I just get the icons with no name of the shares displayed. Although I do get the share names if I try "smbclient -L srever". cannot see the samba server when browsing
I would like to know if there is a rule that can be created in iptables that would allow a samba server shares to be seen on the internal LAN. windows clients can't see workgroup at all
I'm trying to troubleshoot a new samba setup on a tiny network, and I'm clearly missing something. I'm running Samba 3.0.22 on Ubuntu Linux. When I first set it up, it seemed to go so smoothly. Filling symbols in xyplot
Hello, I am using xyplot and am happy with my graph, *except* that I cannot get the symbols to be filled. I tried using bg=c("red3","red","black","lightgrey")) in both the key and the xyplot function, that that was obviously not the answer. Network Neighborhood shows Linux icon doesn't allow to open, debug Marathon

smbclient can't start a session with stupid XP
I use samba 2.0.5 on a Solaris 7 Ultra 10 to provide UNIX disk mounts and backups to UNIX tape drives. Windows 7 can't see my Samba server

Shares are not listed (Access denied)
Good Morning, I have almost the same problem. When I use smbclient -U% -L server I get a share List and Server List but instead of listing the shares it says "Error returning browse list: ERRDOS - ERRnoaccess (Access Denied)". Subnet Browsing, Halfway There
I have a network which consists of two subnets, each with a linux server providing Samba services.
