Run rsync even not connected
I hopethis hope this makes sense. How do you make rsync run even when not physically connected to the server? In other words, I run rsync from the terminal via vnc and when I log out of the connection, rsync stops running. Is there a script or something I can use?

I can run???
Hello
I'm using icecast 1.3.10, and streamcast-0.8
I started it with nohup icecast & and it was happy for a while then the stream dropped out. I looked in nohup.out, and there was about 500 lines that just said "You can run, but you can't hide!"
After I changed my underwear, I looked through the source to verify that the message was coming out of Icecast and not the RIAA

df reports false size
On a customer's machine running SuSE 9.2, the size of the occupied space on
the harddisk is reported incorrectly by "df -h". After we noticed the
problem, I rebooted the machine and had it checked by "e2fsck" (check forced
with "tune2fs -C 40", we are not on location). Right after the reboot I
proceeded as follows, but I could not find any information about

WINEPREFIX ?
I have seen posts regarding WINEPREFIX so that Windows programs can be installed elsewhere than in the default .wine/drive_c/... folder.
I have 2 or 3 Windows programs in the default folders which I run under Wine, and another program (Serif PagePlus 11) also in the default folder that does not run and I want to uninstall. Wine uninstall does not work for this program. I gather I can uninstall by

Four bitcode generated with plugin-opt=save-temps
Hi
I use the LDFLAGS=" -flto -fuse-ld=gold -Wl,-plugin-opt=save-temps " to
generate the makefile and to make the whole program. However, found four
different kinds of bitcode for each target. For example, I am compiling
coreutils. For the program "nohup", I can get
nohup.0.0.preopt.bc
nohup.0.2.internalize.bc
nohup.0.4.opt.bc
nohup.0.5.precodegen.bc
If I am right, I

I have a strange samba share problem. I am hoping that someone can shed
some light on this problem. I have a directory called /home/warez.
Inside of this is music/ and warez/ I have all of my mp3's in music and
all my applications in warez. I have both of these directories shared
using samba as follows:

comment = Music
path = /home/warez/music

Switchtower isn''t restarting lighttpd
I''ve got switchtower set up, and it seems to work fine except for one
problem: It doesn''t successfully restart lighttpd. I have the
following task in my deploy.rb file:
desc "Restart the web server"
task :restart, :roles => :app do
sudo "/usr/local/etc/rc.d/lighttpd.sh restart"
end
This is on a FreeBSD system, so it''s using the rc script to

Help with ssh -A, screen, ssh -a, detach, logout
Hi,
I've noticed some ssh behaviour that I wish didn't
happen. I was wondering if someone can explain how I
can stop it from happening, or explain why it's
unavoidable.
If I ssh-with-agent-forwarding from one host to a
second host, and on the second host use something like
nohup/screen/tmux/daemon, and from within that new
process session, start a long-running command via

Four bitcode generated with plugin-opt=save-temps
Hi Teresa
Thanks for your very quick and clear explanation. I have one more question.
The emit-llvm option will give you the IR for a single source file when you
compile it with -c. All of those files when combined give the IR in the
preopt.bc temp file.
===========
So if I use "clang -emit-llvm -c" to generate the .ll file. It should be
the same as the one I generated by using

Deploying to production with backgroundrb (capistrano)
I have noticed that occasionally (about 50% of the time) when i
deploy (using capistrano) my app to a production server, i have to
ssh into the box and manually
stop and start backgroundrb to get it to load my workers.
this is my basic setup
i have 2 workers:
lib/workers/mp3_worker.rb => takes a hash of params to downsample an

RailsCron: error message
Hi,
I''m trying to use RailsCron but keeping getting an error when I try to run
it. I''m a beginner, so please use small words :)
-bash-2.05b$ rake cron_start
(in /home/jake/rails_sites/testsite)
Syntax error: "&" unexpected
The little bit I know about my environment:
- RailsCron installed as a plug in (not gem, cause I''m on a shared host)

Uselib24/bindz - owned!
So pretty sure one of my boxes has been owned. Just wanted some advise
on what to do next. Obviously, i'll need to nuke the fecker and start
over but it would be really nice to find out how they got in as its a
CentOS 4.3 which is bang up to date.
So i found:

Four bitcode generated with plugin-opt=save-temps
These are the bitcode at different stages of the LTO portion of the
compile. LTO merges the IR for all files being linked and optimizes them as
a single monolithic module. The preopt.bc is the merged IR just after
merging and before performing any LTO optimizations. internalize.bc is
after performing whole program internalization. opt.bc is after the
optimization pipeline, and .precodegen.bc is

Centos VPS providers in the European Union?
Hello,
I may need to set up soon a Linux VPS, to be used almost exclusively
for handling email (as in "2GB of disk space, 2GB/month of bandwidth
would be surely enough") with a fully customized
postfix/procmail/dovecot setup.
I'd prefer to use Centos, which I already use and know. One reason why
I'm asking this here is that I'd really like to be sure, before I go
