Fax from Widows
Hey Guys
We've been using the respond program with SMB fax services and it's worked pretty good.
But I have one need which is not addressed by this software, which I'm hoping maybe
I can pay someone to hack into the windows code.
I need Respond to send a cover letter prior to being sent out, independent of the program queueing
the print job in windows. I was thinking I might be

system wakeup caused by write operations to /var/lib/dovecot/instances
Hi Timo,
Thank you very much for replying with an instant solution!
Suggestion for future release: a setting in the configuration to
enable/disable the automatic instance_update_now action and/or set the
timeout by the user.
In the meanwhile I can use the recompiled version with this code change.
Problem solved for me.

Tijl

thatis not secure and you might as well use gmail
It is not so hard to just get a static IP and put a mail server up.
fit/pc has perfect boxes for this, run on about 15w/h power

No difference.
No difference when logging in to the console as root.

Ipsec and Proxy arp
I noticed the long standing Ipsec FSwan problem was fixed.
But do you still have to make sure Ipec is not running when shorewall starts
Reason I ask Is I could not get my Dmz working with Ipsec in the equation.
Thanks

dovecot auth errors for a new user
I've been running dovecott without trouble for quite a why and now when
I added a new user, it is not accepting the user and I can not track the
problem. It says find more information in the server log, but it is not
in /var/log/messages or /var/log/mail.err and nothing with lsof
dovecot|grep log show anything to tail

Re: What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Hi Laine
What you have suggested sounds eminently reasonable. Thanks for your
advice. I'm going to give it a shot and report back.

adding group totals to a table
I have a table with two columns:
A 1
A 1
A 2
B 2
C 0
I would like to produce a third column that contains the counts of each
unique combination of col1 and col2:
A 1 2
A 1 2
A 2 1
B 2 1
C 0 1
How can I do this in R?
Thanks in advance ...

password reset
This is off topic, but I am not sure where to go.
I have a local user who cannot login because of a forgotten password, so I went to reset her password with
sudo passed <user>
Which appears to work, asking for a new password and a confirmation. No error occurs (unless I give it unmatched passwords), but the password is not changed.

linux-ha heartbeat .. failover firewall
I have searched your FAQ''s and read the documentation on your site as well
as googling. I am not able to figure this out. If you have any ideas can
you please help.
I am using the linux-ha failover with redundant firewalls.
As part of the function of the linux-ha software consists a service called
heartbeat which is a connection from each failover node through a serial
cable or ethernet.

MULTIPLE IPSEC TUNNELS
I am have a shorewall firewall and freeswan ipsec running on a redhat 8.0
Linux gateway machine. I have one working tunnel defined, all works well. I
am not clear how to define mutiple concurrent tunnels. I can not add further
interface entries as all the tunnels come in on ipsec0, do I still have
mutiple zone definitions? some of the tunnels will be dynamic roadwarriors

Re: What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Even more puzzling, I reverted back to the old configuration to confirm
what I had seen and found that it works in one direction but not the
other: i.e. from 192.168.0.110 to 192.168.0.120, but not the other way
around.
Must be something with my configuration....which I can follow up on.
So, thanks again for your help.

IPSec tunnel mode, through a IPIP tunnel
Hello Gurus,
I am a small problem with routing and here are the details.
Interfaces on my server:
* ipsec0 - 172.19.58.94
* tunl0 - 172.19.58.94
* eth0 - 172.19.58.94
Now, the problem is that there is another host 172.19.58.200. All
communication to 172.19.58.200 should be through tunl0, and all the data
should be secured using IPSec (tunnel mode - because there are more

I read it -- I just didn''t know what to make of your post and it arrived

What exactly are you trying to accomplish that Shorewall isn''t doing for
you now?
e.g.

rw Roadwarriors Road Warriors
/etc/shorewall/interfraces
rw ipsec+
