anti-virus
Hello all
Have a small problem. We use Samba as our PDC for a large amount of NT clients. We also use Sophos anti-virus to protect the workstations and servers. The problem basically is that although I can get Sophos to work properly I have to go to the actual workstation to install it from the server. Once I've done this Sophos works fine and automatically updates from the server.

UNIX/SAMBA file permission interaction
Hi Everyone,
Just prior to christmas I asked a question relating to the interaction
of SAMBA with UNIX permissions. The answer I got back was to set the
sticky bit on the folder in question. I did this and sure enough SAMBA
then followed the behaviour I expected.
Can any one explain to me why?
For those of you baffled, this is what occurs:
Without the sticky bit set on a folder that has rwx

CentOS Tshirt ideas
hi,
We have, like in the years past, a table at Fosdem and I'd like to get
some tshirts printed to hand out. In the past, the Linux Ninja's and
Beards ones got quite a bit of attention ( and both were not brand
spammy, which is always nice ).
Reaching out to the mailing list for ideas on what we can do this year,
with the caveat that I need to finalise by this weekend if we are to get

CO 7.7.1908 Updates not getting to mirrors?
I *know* there has been a lot going on, and congratulations on getting
CentOS 8 out!
But(!), I don't see any updates to CO 7.7.1908 in the "updates" directory
on the mirrors I typically use. All the files date from Sept. 14th.
Is something broken?

RHEL 7.8 is out
This is not your usual "so when is CO 7.8.xxxx coming out?" posts.
I'm just curious if the CentOS team is affected by our current world
conditions, or is work-from-home modus operandi for the team?
(In other words, "when is CO 7.8.xxxx coming out?")

kpatch (live kernel patching) in CentOS 7.7?
Forgive me if this has been answered before and I've missed it.
This https://access.redhat.com/solutions/2206511 says live kernel patches
will be available via yum updates as of RHEL 7.7. Is this carried over to
CentOS 7.7.1908?

"What Calls What" diagram. Flow Chart?
I don't know the right computer science words for this question, I'm
afraid. Apology in advance.
How do you find your way around in somebody else's code? If the user
runs a specific command, and wants to know how the data is managed
until the result is returned, what to do ?
I've tried this manually with tools like mtrace and browser. This is a
bit frustrating because the

CFA with lavaan or with SEM
Hi
Sorry for the rather long message.
I am trying to use the cfa command in the lavaan package to run a CFA however I am unsure over a couple of issues.
I have @25 dichotomous variables, 300 observations and an EFA on a training dataset suggests a 3 factor model.
After defining the model I use the command
fit.dat <- cfa(model.1, data=my.dat, std.lv = T, estimator="WLSMV",

contigency tables
Hello everybody,
Can anyone tell me how I could analyze data that are at a contigency table form? I already found function cfa in the cfa package but I still don't understand how I could use this function in order to elaborate a contigency table. Every answer is welcome!

I am trying to create parcels for a CFA model. I am trying to average 6 sets of 3 variables each into parcels. I don't understand why I am getting an error message as follows:
Thanks for your help,

Path Diagram
Hi All,
Apologies if this has been answered somewhere else, but I have been
searching for an answer all day and not been able to find one.
I am trying to plot a path diagram for a CFA I have run, I have installed
Rgraphviz and run the following:

Issues with NVidia video driver and CentOS
We do have the elrepo drivers installed. Maybe part of the problem is also

Factor analysis and cfa with asymptotically distributed data
I have friendship data which is strong skewed. So it doesn't make sense to
use maximum likelihood methods for fa and cfa.
But I couldn't find any function for asymptotically distributed data for doing a factor analysis. Only: apca() but there is no possibility to allow for factor correlations.
The same problem is with sem() I couldn't get any solutions for my model because of the
