Build error due to Waf task dependency cycle in run_after
Dear all,
trying to build some Heimdal-based packages for Samba AD DC under
openSUSE I am facing some difficulties with the build system:
During the installation which is triggered by "make install" waf complains
about some task dependency cycle after leaving folder bin/default.
Full log including config options can be seen unter https://build.opensuse.org/

--with-cachedir=/var/lib/samba --with-lockdir=/var/lib/samba/lock
--with-logfilebase=/var/log/samba --with-modulesdir=/usr/lib64/samba
--disable-rpath --disable-rpath-install

Failed initialise SAM_ACCOUNT for user gerard$.
Failed to modify password entry for user gerard$
I take it this has somehting to do with PAM & or shadow passwords, & I

Extracting error terms from an lme object
Hi all,
I have a problem with extracting the right error terms from an lme-object.
The fixed part of the model is quite simple (y~x1*x2, where x1 and x2 are
factor variables with two levels), with random intercepts (random=~1|group).
As I work with factor variables here, I would like to display this with a
barplot (or something like that), with error bars representing the sem or sd
of the mean

Sweave with dev.new()
Dear list.
I am preparing a R package, and the last step is to write a package
vignette using Sweave. However, I am experiencing some trouble when trying
to include plots in my Sweave document. That is, in my package I have made
some plotting functions in which I start by calling 'new.dev()' to start a
graphics device of a certain width and height, and then proceed with
plot(). These

Duplicate mails
Hi,
one of our customers reported a problem after we moved her maildir to
another disk. (Jail in FreeBSD 6, moved to another disk with rsync.)
For some reason she's seeing duplicates of almost every message from
November, 2005 until June, 2006 (the move happened in September, 2006.)
It seems like these mails have been respooled somehow and been inserted
into the maildir with the same date

smbd hangs when printing.
I have a Samba 3.0.1 where I have 2 printers connected. A Canon LBP4+ and a HP OfficeJet G85.
When I'm printing to the canon, no problem, it works like a charm, but when I try to print to the HP printer the smbd service hangs and the only way to stop it are with a kill -9
There are no difference between the 2 printers setup exept the printer driver on the windows machine, and ofcouse the

Really bad Read performance
Running Samba 2.2.7, compiled with LDAP support. I'm suffering from really
poor read performance problems on the server. Write speed is fine (after
adding "interface = <ip of eth0>/24"), giving about 4.4 MB/s. However,
reading files from the samba shares is just not usable. Reading a large (34
MB) file from the server takes more than 3 minutes on a W2K Pro client.

Big devices and missing space
Hello,
I have a Promise EX 12-port RAID controller in my box, connected to 8
750GB disks. I have set up 2 RAID-5 devices and joined these using LVM.
This is working fine.
However, there is something that seems wrong..
(4-1) * 750 = 2250, but df reports the LVM volume as a mere 4.0T;
/dev/mapper/storage_volume-stor 4.0T 3.6T 507G 88% /storage
Shouldn't this be 4.5TB?

SMB+LDAP Question ...
Greetings ...
I have a quick question, which I hope will get a straight and quick answer.
I am moving my system from flat files to LDAP. I have had my users in
LDAP for a while, but then found that my computer accounts for Win2K in
still in passwd. My question is, what are the bare minume LDAP attribs
that I need for them to contiune to work?
But I don't think I am going to get that

Hi,
I have a working installation of Samba 2.2.8a on Mandrake 9.2 - kernel
2.4.20 connected to a Win NT 4.0 sp6 via pam/winbind.
Everything works fine except that I cannot give the NT user "administrator"
administrative rights on samba and users cannot change samba file
permissions from Win2k/WinXP
Here follows my smb.conf

No subject
doing something wrong by not registering our workstations with a DNS?
I have been searching through the documentation today without finding anything
relevant on the subject. When our PC's are configured via DHCP to use our
caching only DNS, will they start looking up machines on our local network using
DNS and forget everything about WINS and broadcast?
It worked just perfectly for nearly

CentOS as VPN Gateway?
Hello,
I am currently setting up my new router, and I opted for using CentOS..
Now, I need OpenVPN support, and I'd rather not install it from source.
I tried yum, but there doesn't appear to be any packages for it available..
Any tips?
