Web site for MacOSX R-devel precompiled version
From several years, I used this site http://r.research.att.com to get a precompiled version of macosx R-devol but the most recent version is frozen at the 18/8 build (r 71112). Is there an alternative (except than compile myself !) ? Thanks, Marc

iptables: No chain/target/match by that name
I''m trying to setup Shorewall 2.0.8 with the one-interface settings on my LFS (kernel 2.6.5) system. I''ve read the troubleshooting guide, recompiled my kernel with just about every netfilter/iptables module I could find, but I''m still getting this error: # tail /tmp/trace + prefix=Shorewall:smurfs:DROP: + ''['' 22 -gt 29 '']'' +

[PATCH] Rendering: swap buffers and copy only needed parts
Hi, I've been experiencing serious tearing in compiz when screen is painted only partly. Either "Sync To Vblank" option in compiz doesn't work or copying repainted parts from backbuffer to frontbuffer is too slow. And since many people rely on driver's implementation of Sync to Vblank, it would be optimal to always use glXSwapBuffers. This can be accomplished via keeping

php-cgi frozen with sbwait when SMP enable
Hello, I have 4 web servers with lighttpd to serve one web site with DNS load sharing. On the 2 SMP-enable web servers, there will be many php-cgi frozen in 'sbwait' state every day. It means the php-cgi stay in 'sbwait' state, and never be back to 'accept' or other state. If I restart them, there will be frozen php-cgi appear some hours later. There is no problem on the

Guest TSC and Xen (Intel and AMD feedback please)
Various versions of Linux under various circumstances select TSC as the primary clocksource for the kernel. This is especially true for uniprocessor kernels, but also in some cases for multiprocessor kernels. In most cases, this is because a processor bit (tsc_invariant? constant_tsc?) is passed through directly from the hardware via Xen and tested by the hvm guest and the result implies that

[patch 0/4] Revised softlockup watchdog improvement patches
Hi Ingo, This series of patches implements a number of improvements to the softlockup watchdog and its users. They are: 1. Make the watchdog ignore stolen time When running under a hypervisor, the kernel may lose an arbitrary amount of time as "stolen time". This may cause the softlockup watchdog to trigger spruiously. Xen and VMI implement sched_clock() as measuring unstolen time,
