openssh remote add user exploits?
Hello. Recently I discovered some kind of exploit of openssh used against
me. For configuration info, I am using Mandrake 8.2 with the openssh
package openssh-3.1p1-1mdk.
Fortunately, I was at least somewhat security-aware, and have an
AllowUsers parameter in my sshd config file. I Used to allow only public
key logins, but ditched that when I found myself needing access from
multiple places. I

Is this a bug?
In the course of tracking down a problem in Samba v2.0.4a, I set
"debuglevel=3" and noticed something strange in the log file.
While attempting to find the netlogon script, a number of variations on the
name are tried (e.g. for Windows, it's *.COM, *.EXE, *.BAT). Here's
the strangeness: the file NETLOGON"BAT is also looked for. Yes, that's a
quotation mark in place

Unable to access share on Encrypted Partition
Hi,
I would like some help. I am trying to set-up a share on an Encrypted
Partition of my Home Server.
I'm using opensuse 11.4 with samba version
3.5.7-3.5.1-2573-SUSE-SL11.4-i386.
This is something that I know has worked with earlier versions of openSuSE
and samba.
My smb.conf looks like this:
==START==
[global]
workgroup = buffalonet
passdb backend = tdbsam
printing = cups

for a guest accessing host "full disk", how to prevent host vgscan
Hi All.
I have a dell system with a H700 raid. Within the hardware RAID config
I've created a "virtual disk" which I have assigned to one of my
guests. On the host the device is "/dev/sdb", on the guest it's "/dev/vdb".
This works fine.
Within the guest, we have created lvm PV on /dev/vdb (using the whole
disk - no partitions) and created a volume

ActiveRecord: Nested :include erroneous behavior
Hi,
Found a simple example breaking on moving to 2.2 from 2.0. This
example illustrates the usage of nested :include finder options.

class Distributor < ActiveRecord::Base

ERROR(S): Profile Creation
I have recently been assigned to create a Samba PDC. Earlier in the
week, I thought I was successful. I was able to log in, load (or create)
the test user's .ntprofile, etc. Went home that night, happy as could be.
Came back the next day - and nothing was working correctly. The systems

nmblookup -U 127.0.0.1 POGO (the server)
nmblookup -B 192.168.1.255 WIN-CLIENT (the client)

Roaming Profiles with Samba PDC
I have been working on this problem for quite some time now and have not been able to find the solution.
I have Samba running on Debian Linux 3.0 (Woody) as a primary domain controller. From my Windows 2000 desktop I am able to browse that Linux server with Windows Explorer.
My biggest problem is trying to log in to that domain. Under Windows 2000 I am able to join the domain (sjmlinux) but
