Samba as PDC - No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.
Hello everyone,
I?m trying to set Samba as a primary NT domain controller in my small home network. I?ve been going step by step trough the HOW TO on Samba PDC. When I got to the part where I should log a client (a windows 2000 workstation, no SPs installed) into the domain (called HOME) I keep getting ?No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.?. I guess I forgot to do something

Access to share is denied for groups on samba 3 - ADS
Hello everybody,
I have a Samba 3.0.7-Debian setup and joined an ADS-domain. I want to
share a directory, but only an explicitly set "valid user" can access
the share. It should be accessible to "sambausers", but that doesn't work.
I can also logon as ADS-user on the samba box and get a shell.
In smb.conf:

ERROR(S): Profile Creation
I have recently been assigned to create a Samba PDC. Earlier in the
week, I thought I was successful. I was able to log in, load (or create)
the test user's .ntprofile, etc. Went home that night, happy as could be.
Came back the next day - and nothing was working correctly. The systems
could not find the domain. The domain was not

samba 3.0.22 default ACL issue
Hi,
I use samba 3.0.22 as PDC on Debian with workstations under windows XP
SP1 and SP2.
I use ACLs to have a fine grained access rules.
When I copy a directory from a client to a samba share, default ACLs are
forgiven.
exemple : after I copy the directory A on the samba share :
getfacl A/
# file: A/
# owner: user1
# group: sambausers
user::rwx
group::---
other::---
default:user::rwx

"No such file" error when reading Win98 profiles
Hi all,
I'm having an odd error with Samba 2.2.5 and I'm wondering if anyone can
give me a hand with it.
About a month ago, I upgraded from Samba 2.2.1 to 2.2.5 on RedHat 7.2 and,
since then, my Win98 users have been receiving "No such file or directory"
errors during login. The upgrade was installed using John Terpstra's RH 7.2
RPM package.

Hi,
I use samba 3.0.22 on Debian Sarge as PDC for windows XP SP1 and SP2.
Sometimes, users get the message "Windows cannot found the roaming
profile on server so user will get a default profile". (sorry, it's not
the official message, I had to translate, because I get the message in
french) This error comes only if user log in quickly after the boot. If
they wait a little

Samba PDC + ACL : default ACLs ignored on directory
Hi all,
I use Debian Sarge and Samba 3.0.22 with ACLs. The server is a PDC. I
have about 70 clients workstation running both Windows XP SP1 and SP2.
All works pretty good, all but the directory copy, wich forget ACLs in a
particular case :
When a client copy a local directory on a samba share, the defaults ACLs
aren't applied. But this problem comes only when the client local

No Admin-Rights in SMB-PDC-Domain
Hello,
I've build a domain with Samba 3.0.23 and sucessfully joined this domain
with a Windows-XP-Machine. I can log in to that machine as User "Root",
wich is in the Group "Domain Admins" (rid=512). But I have no
admin-rights on that machine.
Also, normal User can not log in over the Remotesession (RDP).
Can anybody help me to figure out why?

Profile directories ignore directory mask
Hello,
We are running Samba 3.0.4 in ADS mode with winbind. We use roaming
profiles, stored in the [homes] share for each user in a directory
called .ntprofile. This same home directory is used for their UNIX
account. For some reason, when windows creates the roaming profile
directory (.ntprofile) it gets created with permissions 771. This is
bad, because all of our users are members of the

Company of Heroes crashes after short time of playing
Hi!
As the subject says: I can start a game (only tested with skirmish), but after less than one minute it stops and crashes with the Relics crash dialog.
I tried with different wine versions (atm 1.1.42 and 1.2) under Debian lenny 32bit (Linux 2.6.32) and Ubuntu Lucid 64bit with different fglrx versions. My graphics hardware is a Radeon HD 4200.
Via winetrix I installed d3dx9, gecko, ie6, ie7,
