%U bug
I have been unable to find any indication as to the scope of the %U bug. I
have been looking in the docs, etc., and there is only an indication that
there IS a bug, fixed in 2.2.7. Can anyone tell me what it is, or where to
read what it is? I couldn't find the SAMBA_2_2 CVS log as was suggested --
I don't use CVS.
Thanks.

Hi,
I have just compiled and linked Samba 2.2.7a
on a Solaris 8 server with the GCC 2.95.3
version compiler. I get the following compilation

expected crash?

ldap users would like to change their own (smb)passwords
Dear Samba list,
I am using samba with ldap. All works fine.
Now I want my users to change their own smbpasswd's.
That only works when :
domain admin groups = myusers
and
secrets.tdb is set to 660
beside this smb.conf must at least be readable by the myusers_group.
Otherwise I get this :
/usr/local/samba-2.2.7/bin/smbpasswd -L -a bert

pre-/postexec in printers-section
Hi,
after updating our printserver from Samba V2.0.6 to V2.2.7 I encountered the
following problem.
Samba does not execute the (root) pre- and postexec within the printers
section.
If you are using these command in another section everything works fine.
Does anybody know if these command are not supported in the printers section
anymore?
smb.conf:
[global]
...
load printers = yes

How can I restart samba?
I'm fiddling with the various configuration files to try and get Samba
working - after making changes to various files I end up rebooting [shudder]
the box to get the settings to take.
I invoke the smbd, and nmbd binaries from a root bash command line, each
with the "-D" option. I can't seem to send a "kill SIGHUP" command to the
PID I read from a "ps -ex"

[LLVMdev] How to keep array type info in arguments
When I tried LLVM for a function with an array as an argument, the type
infomation of the array seems lost. For example, for this function,
void DCT(short data[64], char step, char offset),
its corresponding LLVM code will be
void %DCT8_int(short* %data, sbyte %step, sbyte %offset) ,
and every access of "data" will be a pointer access, instead of an array
access.
Is there any way to

modal validation not works
Hi everyone,
i have 20 fields in users table.
in my admin profile module the admin can modify his infomation.
but only 12 fields he can able to modify.
so in my controller
if params[ :profileinfo ][:first_name]
@profileinfo.update_attribute(:first_name,params[ :profileinfo
][:first_name])
end
the above simply saves what i enter into the field.why it doesnot
consider the modelvalidation.
