Expandable network storage
I want to thank everyone who has provided insight into my thread about
clustering MySql. I kind of just sat back and watched it develop. I
learned a lot from it all.
I have been reading all of the documentation on clustering provided by
Centos/Red Hat, and find I travel in circles. I read one chapter and
answer a self-imposed question but I end up asking myself another.

2 DHCP server in one subnet
Hello all,
In the network there is already a W2K server serving as DHCP server for the
network. Then we want to implement LTSP, so we need to setup another DHCP
server, right?
Due to unexpected reason (little by little migration of w98 clients to LTSP),
we need to keep the W2K server running in that network. Can we then have 2
DHCP server in the same subnet, only serving pre-determine clients

rsync problem
Hi everybody,
after upgrading a few CentOS machines from 5.0 to 5.2, and during that
upgrading rsync from 3.0.0-1.el5.rf to 3.0.3-1.el5.rf (both from rpmforge)
rsync stopped working and bails out with a segfault after some
undeterministic time (zero to a few seconds) during a sync.
Manually going back to 3.0.2-1.el5.rf seems to work.
Has anybody experienced similar problems?
I'm not sure if

OT: vmware server not accepting root password?
Sorry for the OT question; I'm hoping someone else has a similar setup
and ran into this same problem?
For some reason, not sure what I changed, my vmware server is no
longer accepting the root login for the management console or web mui
interface. I'm certain the password is correct, and I've even reset
root's password to make sure. VMware seems to be running ok, I can

Good day to all!
We would like to authenticate our ejabberd against Dovecot with perl
there's such a script http://www.ejabberd.im/files/contributions/check_dovecot.pl.txt
that script uses following perl library - http://cpansearch.perl.org/src/SASHA/Authen-SASL-Authd-0.04/lib/Authen/SASL/Authd.pm
Authentication is OK, but sub user_dovecot wich queues information about a specific user

vpopmail oddities
vpopmail + qmail + dovecot + thunderbird = huge headache ;-)
alright, when attempting to connect via imaps to my .maildir based
vpopmail install, $user@$domain is having some problems.
/var/vpopmail/domains/$domain/$user is the location of the user
folders with vpopmail and yet dovecot isn't exactly passing on the
domain :-\ i'm not sure if this is a pebkac issue or if it's the root

tcp wrappers Question..
hey folks, I keep seeing this on the internet
"The user name lookup feature of TCP Wrappers uses identd to identify
the username of the remote host. By default, this feature is disabled,
as identd may appear hung when there are a large number of TCP connections."
but I cant seem to find out how/where to enable said feature.

VMWare Server doesn't like new CentOS installation?
I just got a nice, shiny new machine at work, a Core 2 Duo, on which I
just finished installing CentOS 5.2 with a fair number of packages,
SeaMonkey 1.1.10, Adobe Reader 8.0, Adobe Flash 9.0, mplayer,
mplayerplug-in (both from rpmforge), and I think that was it. Then I
went and got the latest VMWare Server, 1.0.7, from VMWare, pulled down
their rpm, installed it, and ran vmware-config.pl, which

Docker swarm service misconfigured in FirewallD / CentOS 7
Hi,
I'm currently fiddling with Docker Swarm on three sandbox servers running
CentOS 7.
Unfortunately I couldn't get even the most basic configuration running. After
some experimenting and investigating, it turns out there's a problem with
FirewallD.
Here's what I did first on every single node.
# firewall-cmd --permanent --add-service=docker-swarm
# firewall-cmd --reload

Building Packages with AnnBuilder
Hi there.
I got some Problems building an Annotation-Package with AnnBuilder.
Not using the function ABPkgBuilder(), but just parts of it to create a
package without connecting to the servers, I managed to create a Package,
but it seems to be empty. R recognizes it as a package, but is unable to
load it.
The form of the data is in a correct form, I got an example-annotation-file

vmware problem took down X on host?
I run VMWare server 1.07 on Centos 5. Last night I left a Windows 2000
virtual machine doing a ClamWin scan of drive M: when I went to bed around
midnight. Drive M: is actually a volume on the Centos 5 host, mounted via
Samba. It has about 40Gb of photos on it, plus a few other things. I had
the VM up visible in the VMWare Server Console running under KDE on display

Xen 3.1.2 on CentOS 5.5 doesn't see all 4 CPUs
Hello all,
I've been digging around on this for a few days and I have not come up
with a solution.
I have a Compaq ProLiant DL580 (G1, the old tan Compaq) with 4 x 700MHz
P-III CPUs and 11GB of memory. I've loaded CentOS 5.5 with Virtualization
(Xen) + KVM and patched up to current (full KS packages file list at the
end).
When it boots, Xen only detects a single CPU as shown in the xm
