Hello, I'm getting a password error when i do CTRL/ALT and DELETE on my PC, select Change Password and enter my network id, the samba domain and the old/new passwords. The error is "Unable to change the password on this account (c00000BE). Please consult your system administrator.". Synchronising NT, unix and Samba passwords
Our Samba is working perfect except that when a users NT password expires and the user changes it they can't access the share anymore from Windows NT explorer. At the moment i have to log on to our unix system and change the unix and samba passwords manually to match the new NT password. I've been looking through all the websites on Samba but nothing has helped. I've done all sorts of

Can Samba be installed on Windows 2000
Hello, Can Samba be installed on a Windows 2000 machine (then create a share) so that on the Unix side you can mount the share thats been created (the opposite of installing Samba on Unix and then mapping a drive on a Windows 2000 machine to a Unix share)? I don't need to do this, i was just wondering. ^**********************************************************************^ This email and

NT4 user can't change password during logon (but XP can)
When a password must be changed during logon (pdbedit <user> --pwd-must-change-time=0) then this is impossible on NT4 SP6a machines; we always get this error: "Unable to change the password on this account (C00000BE). Please consult your system administrator.". At that time we get these messages in log.smbd: <<<< log.smbd <<<< [Tue May 9 10:46:17 2006 ,

Help understanding lrm function of Design library
Hi, I'm developing an experiment with logistic regression. I've come across the lrm function in the Design library. While I understand and can use the basic functionality, there are a ton of options that go beyond my knowledge. I've carefully read the help page for lrm, but don't understand many of the arguments and optional return values. (penalty, penalty.matrix,

after identify labels dissapear XP
Greetings: Using 'identify' to label points on a plot works just fine. However, when saving under 'metafile' or using the clipboard the labels dissapear. I believe it's an SDI issue. I am running last R with last Tinn-r under XP up to date. Anything I can do besides going back to MDI :-)? Thanks, Mihai Nica, ABD Jackson State University ITT Tech Instructor 170 East Griffith

Best performance measure?
Hello, I working on a model to predict probabilities. I don't really care about binary prediction accuracy. I do really care about the accuracy of my probability predictions. Frank was nice enough to point me to the val.prob function from the Design library. It looks very promising for my needs. I've put together some tests and run the val.prob analysis. It produces some very

plot of computed vector
gReetings: I apologize for the non-programming language. I found what seems to be a strange behavior of plot(). The code follows: #_____________________________ N=3030; gn=.04; tn=1:100 n=N/(1+(N-1)*exp(-gn*tn)) N=n*(1-exp(-gn*tn))/(1-n*exp(-gn*tn)) plot(N) #strange plot N N=rep(3030, 100) plot(N) #behaves as expected ________________________________ Windows XP, R 2.4.0. or 2.4.1 Thanks,

Loop and Solver with Black/Scholes-Formula
Hello, for my diploma thesis I need to program a solver for Merton?s respectively Black?s and Scholes? Option pricing formula, which should be achieved for several dates. What I want to do is to estimate the value of a firm?s assets "vA" (x[2] denotes vA) and the option-implied volatility of firm?s assets "sigA" (x[1] denotes sigA) by solving it simultaneous using the Black

Introduction to be able to contribute to the wiki&In-Reply-To=<4A54B209.3050205%40NASA.gov>
I've updated the article to create a separate .repo file for the testing repository. I looked at the documentation here: http://wiki.centos.org/PackageManagement/Yum/Priorities that talks about yum-priorities and maybe I'm not reading the article right but I don't think I can use this plug-in in conjunction with only grabbing updated PHP files. I could configure it as a secondary

FTP download from ftp.sec.gov
All, I have managed to download files from web sites and ftp sites using R, so just for fun I tried to do so from the SEC's ftp site using the following code: ftp <- "ftp://anonymous:test at ftp.sec.gov/edgar/full-index/company.idx" download.file(url=ftp, destfile="test.txt") And it does not work. R says it cannot open the URL. If I paste the ftp part into IE it

Buckley-James censored regression without intercept
Hi, dear R-help, I want to fit a Buckley-James censored regression without intercept. The function bj() inside the Design library have to have an intercept, I try Surv(y,d)~ 0 + x , or -1+x, or x-1, none works. Any suggestions? Is there another BJ() code out there that do not have to have an intercept? Or may be it is easier to modify the bj()? I need the estimator only, no need of var estimate
