I have got the printing working with CUPS finally on all of my printer. Took a while but they are printing with no errors. What they are not doing is feeding back the print status, and not all of them are consistent. I have a HP2000C that gives me a failed to open retrying error in the W2k printers window. I have a minolta d350 that always comes back blank, even though there are maybe 50 jobs

I am able to get it to work properly by giving complete world access to the file and folders, which means basically it has to be on a share by itself, or one that has complete rwxrwxrwx. I found out a few things. The problem is when act closes the locks are not being cleared. I can make it work by creating an additional share just for the database that has no locking at all, but I think I am risking data corruption. I don't need access to the database simultaneously so if anyone knows how to force the locks to be cleared when I exit act so the next person can get it that

I have found another printing problem on my print server. The printer is an HP2000C. Printing using cups. The print queue is set up as a RAW printer. It should be just pass through. I am using the same print driver as on the Novell that works fine. The problem is before each print job a single page gets printed with a %! at the top of the page and nothing else. Chris, I did this very thing although I can't tell you how because it just worked right without my having to do anything. I am not having the server automatically download the drivers so maybe that has something to do with it. I keep my drivers on s share and then have to go pick them when I install a printer. All of my print queues from cups update my windows boxes about every 3 seconds.
