encoding question again
Hi, R Devils, I'm running the actual R version in JGR (version 1.5-8 ). Sys.getlocale(category = "LC_ALL") yields [1] "LC_COLLATE=German_Germany.1252;LC_CTYPE=German_Germany.1252;LC_MONETARY=German_Germany.1252;LC_NUMERIC=C;LC_TIME=German_Germany.1252" I want to write some HTML-Code enhanced by statistical results and labels encoded in Latin-1, which I pass to a function.

Just-in-time mounts when following symlinks
This mail message follows from several discussions with Luke Leighton. It's mostly technical in nature but I'm submitting to all mailing lists anyway (Luke's suggestion). We have our Samba server running with the Berkeley AMD automounter (nothing peculiar here). In order for our Samba users to walk the automount tree, we created a program to create symbolic links from the local

how to manipulate dput output format
I am reading into Java dput output for a matrix, more specifically for a file backed big-matrix. I basically need to lift dimnames for a matrix from dput output. It's no big deal, but the code is very 'hackish' due to the need to get rid of quotes, endlines, parenthesis, etc. I was wondering if i could manipulate to an extent dput output with some options that define it, for example,

Manova for repeated measures
Hi everyone, I'm posting again, since I haven't got an answer (yet :( ). According to R help, manova does not support the inclusion of the Error() term in the formula call. I have repeated measures data for two dependent variables, so this means I can't account for subject variance in time?. Any lights? Thanks in advance, Rodrigo Abt, Department of Economic Studies, SII, Chile.

Recurrence plots in R using different colours
Hello, I am an absolutely beginner with regards to R, so forgive me for my potentially very stupid questions. I have been attempting to create recurrence plots using R. The data I am using is based on a mutually exclusive and exhaustive coding scheme with over 40 individual codes which can be assigned to 6 higher order categories. When I carry out the usual rqa command, my plot is pretty much

1.0 release
I'm dying to use the 1.0 capability to use more than one mysql user pasword database. However, I'm too chicken to use 1.0-test in a production environment. Does anyone know if there is a planned release date for 1.0? Or can anyone say how risky it is to use 1.0-test?
