Printing NT to Linux printer problem
Using SuSE V8.0 Samba 2.2.7a on a small network I have a Lexmark laser printer attached to the Linux PC, using Cups 1.1.15. I was able to print from Linux OK, and some months ago had setup the Win NT PC to print across the network to the laser. So all was well. Recently I had a couple of problems with the NT machine (the usual BSOD's etc) also had a couple of problems with the SuSE PC

Strange behaviour on Win98
I am currently trying to integrate a Samba v2.2.5 server into an NT domain. I have already succeeded to join the server into the domain and have authentication working (security = DOMAIN), but when I'm trying to access it from a Win98 client, it sometimes says "network name not found", although the server is visible in the "network neighbourhood". Then, after waiting a

APW Permissions Issue
SuSE 8.2 with Samba 2.2.7a, smb.conf is at end. (Hostname=outside) This box runs VMware with a Windows 2000 client configured as a workgroup member (hostname=RNOME-W2K). I created a Linux user account for the W2K machine, edited etc/passwd to add a "$" at the end of the username for the machine, and added the machine account and my user account to the Linux ntadmin group. Roaming profile and logon script on Windows XP
Hi there! I set up samba 2.2.8a as a Windows PDC. Everything worked fine (joining the domain, roaming profile, passwd changing) until I wanted a logon script. Now I got the error message, that the client can not load it's profile and it creates a temprary profile. Without the logon script everything is fine. Is there a collision between the logon home drive and the logon script?? Or what

Epson C84 attached via USB prints fine from Linux with CUPS and also via the commandline using smbclient > print. With data shares, I have no problems. Problem: Print jobs from Windows 2000 never get

Guest Printing Broke after upgrade from 2.28 to 3.010
I'm running a CUPS print server with SuSe 9.0 Pro with printers shared through Samba. I've recently upgraded from 2.28 to 3.010. My server is a member of an NT 4 domain. I run winbind to authenticate users to the domain; however, I also allow guest printing because many laptop users' machines are not domain members. There has been a change in guest printing behavior after the

And I cannot reply directly to the news group, I have to go to the crappy netscape mail thing to send this... Anyway, see below. Thanks again, Dominique Mogens Kjaer wrote: > fluibgwef@netscape.net wrote: > > ... chaotic quote removed ... > Well it is chaotic
