Gluster Management Console
Hi, I am trying to set up the Gluster Management Console (backend servers - centos 6, glusterfs 3.3beta2, management gateway - centos 6). I can launch the java app and make it through the password changing screen. Then I choose "register" and input the cluster name and the IP of one of the backend servers. I made it through the part where I had to set the root password on the backend

Using torrent in tcrules
Hi all, I''m trying to set up traffic shaping and I''m having some difficulty. Here is what I want, and where I am. 1. HTTP and SMTP traffic needs to be priority 1. 2. All other traffic priority 2 3. Torrent traffic priority 3. My distro is Fedora Core 4, and the torrent protocol does not appear in /etc/protocols. The only protocol is TCP, which HTTP and SMTP is built on top

Recent spam postings
Due to the large volume of spam on the list (and that stupid anti-spam spam - I can't believe how lame that is) I've blocked postings to the list that are only in text/html format. Multipart postings are still allowed although I wish they weren't. There have been problems with the mime filter breaking other people's mailers so that project is on hold for now. Tim.

Delete Access
Hey there all, I'd like to start off by saying that Samba is anamazing progra and is ideal for my suitation. Well without trying to suck up too much I'd also like to say that I hope that this is th right place to send this mail. If not please redirect me in the right direction. My problem is silly. I want to implement samba on a file sharing server. I have already set it up and

How to find out the default CPU / Features String for a given triple?
When I pass an empty string for cpu and features to createTargetMachine, and then use LLVMGetTargetMachineCPU() and LLVMGetTargetMachineFeatureString() to get the strings back, they are still empty. Is there a way to have llvm compute the effective cpu/features string, and provide it so that I can inspect it? I'm trying to figure out how the cpu/features string that I am explicitly passing,

Samba 2.2.4 on s/390
I have just compiled Samba 2.2.4 with the following configure. ./configure --with-pam --with-winbind I used the same instructions as I did go get Samba 2.2.2 working. I noticed the winbind daemon dies after about a minute. I set the debug to 10 for it and I found some confusing things. Why is it trying to connect to GIGDC1 with a null username? Is this why the connection is refused?

Winbind and trusted domains
Does Samba has a problem working with trusted domains ? I have two trusted domains and a Samba server 2.2.2 configured with winbind running on RH 7.0, after working for a week its now only showing me the remote domain groups and not the local domain groups. The remote domain is called Sxxx and the local one Txxxx, does samba consider an alphabetical order or somethig like that when working with

Printing; privileges separation
Hi list, I'm using samba 3.0.26a with cups as printing backend, which are both working fine. However, I would like to grant all users access to all print jobs, but without granting them the right to add or modify printers and printer settings. When I grant users the SePrintOperatorPrivilege privilege, they can indeed cancel other people's jobs, but then they can also rename printers

Need help to rsynch the directory structure only excluding the files from remote to local.
Hi Tim, I tried using the rsync like how you specified in your example and it worked fine. But when I tried it between my UNIX box and a remote server the command would just not complete and give any output whatsoever. This is how I did it: rsync -av --include '*/' --exclude '*' tashaikh@remotebox:/dw/etl/home/ prod/log/ /export/home/tashaikh/auto/log In the above I need to copy

ip address of samba.org has changed
samba.org has moved and has a new IP address. You may find that some services are inaccessible until your local name server fetches the updated records. That should happen fairlly quickly, but please be patient. This affects the machines samba.org, cvs.samba.org and all email. The machine is now located in the Linuxcare offices in Canberra, Australia. It was located at the Australian National

Nbfw, Cross-subnet browsing
Hi, I'm currently using the nbfw (netbios forwarder - http://nbfw.sourceforge.net/) patch with samba on a linux masquerading firewall/router. It works pretty well. I was wondering if there was plan to include this patch in samba (or TNG) I was also wondering if there was any way to use this as a mean to do cross-subnet browsing efficient. The paradox is that browsing works better between a

Will rpcclient ever get better?
I was wondering if anyone has heard of someone trying to improve on rpcclient, specifically regarding the printer-related commands. Also, it seems that rpcclient has trouble returning a large list of printers (enumprinters), like in the range of 200. Has anyone heard about this? Thanks in advance for replies :-) Thomas Klopf MMS - Gulf Region (ACS-GS contractor) -------------- next part

Winbind memory leak
Hi, I have been quite surprised at the largeness of the winbind memory leak. I have an awk script which checks this every n-minutes and sends me an alert when it exceeds a specified threshold. See below for some sample data. This is RH6.2 with Samba 2.2.2 and about 25 users. What I was wondering is whether there is any issues with killing and restarting winbind whilst samba is running at full

Inefficient Winbind behavior?
Hello all, I'm having an issue with Winbind and I'm not sure if it's occurring by design or not. My Samba server resides in a Windows NT domain and uses winbindd to authenticate to a mixed-mode 2003 domain over a trust relationship. Everything works the way it ought to. However, every so often my users experience delays of anywhere from 30 to 60 seconds when connecting to a share,
