Plotting NLS profiles
Hello list, I'm trying to plot nls profiles, but the plot.profile.nls function in R doesn't seem to accept any plot.default variables. Specifically, I'd like to be able to change the x-axis title and the colors to black and white. Has anyone had any luck with this? If not, is there a way to override to plotting colors, perhaps in par()? Thanks, Sam fm1 <- nls(demand ~

plot time series / dates (basic)
Dear R users, I'm having a hard time with some very simple things. I have a time series where the dates are in the format 7-Oct-04. I imported the file with read.csv so the date column is a factor. The series is rather long and I want to plot it piece by piece. The function below works fine, except that the labels for date are meaningless (ie 9.47e+08 or 1098000000 - apparently the number of

I am running 1.3.1 on a Windows (NT 4.0) machine. I've fit a nonlinear model intended to predict crop yield from nutrient information, and want to use the profile function. If I type say, profile(simparj.fm) I get the following error message: "Error in prof$getProfile(): number of iterations exceeded maximum of 5.25515e-308" I used the profiler function to profile simparj,fm step

accessing ylim set by xyplot
Hello, I would like to know if there is a clever way to avoid the problem illustrated below within the xyplot function. x <- seq(1:10) y <- seq(1:10) pr1 <- xyplot(x ~ y) u <- seq(1:12) v <- seq(1:12) pr2 <- xyplot(u ~ v, col = "red", more = FALSE) prts <- list(pr1, pr2) for(i in prts) print(i, more = TRUE) I realize that one possibility is to

problem with polr ?
I want to fit a multinomial model with logit link. For example let this matrix to be analyzed: male female aborted factor 10 12 1 1.2 14 14 4 1.3 15 12 3 1.4 (this is an example, not the true data which are far more complex...) I suppose the correct function to analyze these data is polr from MASS library. The data have been

ROCR package question for evaluating two regression models
Hello All,  I have used logistic regression glm in R and I am evaluating two models both learned with glm but with different predictors. model1 <- glm (Y ~ x4+ x5+ x6+ x7, data = dat, family = binomial(link=logit))model2 <- glm (Y~ x1 + x2 +x3 , data = dat, family = binomial(link=logit))  and I would like to compare these two models based on the prediction that I get from each model: pred1 =

Samba and W2K printer issues
I posted this query a couple of days ago and received no responses. SInce that time, some other info has come to light that I thought would be useful to helping to solve this porblem. My network consists of a firewall machine networked with a SuSE 7.2 workstation and a Windows 2000 workstation. My smb.conf file is below: # Samba config file created using SWAT # from 127.0.0.1 (127.0.0.1) # Date:

Problem creation tensor
Hi guys, I need some help to analyzing my data. I start to describe my data: I have 21 matrices, every matrix on the rows has users and on columns has items, in my case films. Element of index (i, j) represent the rating expressed by user i about item j. I have a matrix for each of professions. An example of a this type of matrix is: item 1 item 2 item 3 item4 id

[LLVMdev] Question on the use of TableGen
Hi all, I'm trying to create a new backend for a processor, and I start with modifying the existing backends like MIPS and Microblaze. I have a problem when I try to add a register class in the Target's register description, it looks like this: def IGPRegs : RegisterClass<"MBlaze", [v8i16], 128, [PR0, PR1, PR2, PR3]>; // PR0 - PR3 are registers defined before I want to

format.pval () and printCoefmat ()
Hi List, My goal is to force R not to print in scientific notation in the sixth column (rel_diff - for the p-value) of my data frame (not a matrix). I have used the format.pval () and printCoefmat () functions on the data frame. The R script is appended below. This issue is that use of the format.pval () and printCoefmat () functions on the data frame gives me the desired results, but coerces

When someone launch the dictionnary, many clients are freezed when they try to access to the "start

polr in MASS
Hi, I am trying to test the proportional-odds model using the "polr" function in the MASS library with the dataset of "housing" contained in the MASS book ("Sat" (factor: low, medium, high) is the dependent variable, "Infl" (low, medium, high), "Type" (tower, apartment, atrium, terrace) and "Cont" (low, high) are the predictor variables
