PDC Problems (read this the first one is incomplete)
Sorry but I've posted an incomplete message before that: I've got a big problem with my PDC (Mandrake 8.2 with samba 2.2.5): when I try to join the domain from a W2KPRO (sp3) workstation the procedure goes on well until it require to create a local account for a Domain user ... the system let me browse all the user account on the domain controller but when I try to add it reports this

Again problems with PDC
Ok I probably found the first problem with my system: I was using a domain name identical to the workgroup already set on the clients. I changed it and anything seems to work better infact I can now join the domain and the machine account it's created... BUT when the system ask me to create a new machine user the system give me this error: "cannot create user account since trust

PDC problems
We have really enjoyed our first couple of weeks using samba2.2.2 as our PDC but the past couple of days have been a nightmare the server out of nowhere stopped letting people log in. We recieved an error message that said "Device is not installed on this network." Now we were able to get rid of the problem and at first were not sure how but, a couple of days later it happened again but

Question about Formal Verification
Hello, all, My name is Scott Santucci and I'm a software developer kicking around various wild ideas. (I wish I had something more interesting to say about myself than that, but nothing comes to mind; my day job is in SQL and Java, nothing to do with LLVM.) I am wondering whether anyone has tried using LLVM to apply formal verification to program code. I'm thinking about trying to

Question about Formal Verification
LLBMC http://llbmc.org uses bounded model checking technique to find errors in LLVM IR.Model checking is essentially search, and since LLBMC is bounded, the search for errors is usuallyincomplete, hence the approach may not verify the entire program, however, it may be goodenough to find interesting errors. Network Neighbourhood samba 4
When you say, there is not network neighbourhood in samba 4 you mean that: 1: all the workstations show in the network neighbourhood except the domain controller. 2: There is absolutly nothing in the network neighbourhod, no workstations nor DC.

Stumped at "Network Neighbourhood", Samba server is visible, but it's path can't be found ...
Hi all, I can see the RH7.3 linux box I've configured with the latest Redhat RPM samba package in the Windows 2000 network neighbourhood, but when I double click the W2000 computer icon I get the message "\\Linuxbox is not accessible, The network path was not found." The network is a small switched lan, sadly with only one unix box (RH7.3) and a mixture of Windows2000 and 98

Troubles with Network Neighbourhood
Hi , I've some torubles with smb server provided with Debian 3.0 Woody - I can't see any machine in network neighbourhood, altought all machines are loging and mapping resources shared by server correctly. What exactly is needed to be installed with smb - any DNS or something like this? Maybe the question is not too clever, but when I've had my server on RH7.2 there was no such

Server string in Network Neighbourhood
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is the string that appears in browser lists restricted to being a single string without spaces, or can you include spaces ? I have samba v1.9.15p8 running on a SGI O2 system, and I'm accessing its filesystems from a W95 PC. I started off with the following line in my /etc/init.d/samba script NMBD_OPTS="-C11th Floor SGI O2" which results in

Problem with master browser, Vista kills network neighbourhood
I have a Samba Server 3.0.23a running on a Fedora 4. Since Vista entered my lan I've been having problems with master browser elections. When a Vista client connects to my workgroup it kills the network neighbourhood and the only machines seen is the vista client and my fileserver. By changing the regedit entries on the client side following this advice: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM

Network Neighbourhood shows dual workgroups.
We have a network here with Samba running as a WINS server and is the domain master browser. The network also consists of a couple of Novell 3.11 servers. Our Windows 95 stations have IPX and TCP/IP configured, NETBIOS is NOT enabled for IPX. The Windows 95 stations have the WINS server IP address typed in manually as is the IP address for the machine. The DNS is properly configured to resolve

NT network neighbourhood
Hi, I am a system administrator but new to Samba. We bought new PCs with NT service pack 4 and I am trying to configure Samba(2.0.x) so that users can access their UNIX(Solaris/IRIX) files from NT. I have two kinds of problems. Things seems to be perfect when I try this with Win98 but with NT, I can't see the UNIX server from Network Neighbourhood. But "net view" shows all the

'network neighbourhood'..
Hi.. I am finally making some progress with Samba. Its been a while but finally I see the light. I have a question. First of all, here is where I am at. I can use smbclient and access all the shares on my Windows machine. And I can map all the drives that are shared on my linux machine. In other words everything is working between my two machines. Now, here is the problem. In 'network

SMB-server from Win2k -> Red Hat Linux 7.2 - Samba 2.2.1a seen in Network Neighbourhood but not browsable
Hi everyone, I am new to the list and new to Linux as well as to Samba. I've read quite a few howtos, man-pages and other docs on samba now. I configured my own SMB-server with smbd and nmbd. Of course I generated a smb.conf file and my server is accessible and running on the Linux mashine. I can connect with smbclient to the Linux-mashine and to the win2k-mashine (hostname and service
