Samba PDC and Word
I have Samba running as a PDC and it works perfectly, until that is, a Win 2000 user authenticated by the PDC and with a profile on the Samba server wants to access Word and then after a minute or so Word crashes, I got the same result with a Redhat PDC and also with an SME server distro. Informed suggestions other than dump Word are very welcome... John Russell Digital Media Lab University of

Improve hot cold splitting to aggressively outline small blocks
Hi Teresa, Thank you for your reply! I discussed this with Aditya and Rodrigo today about this. We will always have PGO turned on for our benchmark, (i.e. we assume the profiling information is always available). In terms of the workload we supply to PGO: For postgresql, I suggested we use the "pgbench" benchmark, a TPC-B-based SQL benchmark for postgres, to supply profiling information

Dial plan questions
I'm afraid I'm quite confused by what I've found on the Wiki. I have the following dial plan that works: exten => 2201,1,Dial(sip/2201@gs1.uucp,20,) exten => 2201,2,Voicemail(u2201) exten => 2201,3,Hangup exten => 2201,102,voicemail(b2201) exten => 2201,104,hangup When the phone is in use it goes to voice mail as busy. [Note: this has already been sent to comp.os.linux.announce.] -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- It has come to my attention that the recent 1.6 release of MAKEDEV-C inadvertently created /dev/random and /dev/urandom with the wrong permissions. /dev/random and /dev/urandom should look like this: crw-r--r-- 1 root system 1, 8 Feb 21 14:42 /dev/random crw-r--r-- 1 root system

Is there any way to mask or hide the INBOX label for Dovecot 1.2.x Shared Mailboxes?
Hello, I'm setting up a new Dovecot sever to replace an old Cyrus server, and need to keep things as consistent as possible. I have a couple local accounts, like junkmail and notjunkmail that users get shared access to, and can drop things in to train sa-update. However, when users share over junkmail's inbox, it's displayed in the hierarchy: ? Other Users ? junkmail ? INBOX

Estimating Weibull parameters
Hi R-Community, I have a vector of Weibull distributed observations and I would like to estimate the parameters "shape" and "scale" of the Weibull distribution. Is there a way to do this in R? new login library alpha release
Hi, I've just posted an early alpha of a new login record library 'liblogin' to my website -> http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/andre.lucas/openssh.html . It's released as a patch, and it doesn't enable itself by default. Read the instructions first! This release is missing a lot of functionality, but is tested and working on Linux (RH6.0 anyway) and OpenBSD. Why you might

New liblogin release
Hi, I've just put a new version of liblogin[1] on my website. This version is fully tested on Linux RH6, OpenBSD, HPUX10.20 and Solaris 2.6. It may well work on other systems now, as it supports login(), [uw]tmp, [uw]tmpx, and lastlog (filemode only.) If you're feeling adventurous, please check out the web page and try it out. By 'tested', I mean that the library is known to

New liblogin 0.3alpha
FYI a new version of liblogin, 0.3alpha, is up on my website at http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/andre.lucas/liblogin.html This version fixes a few bugs and has implementations for the full API, including 'get last login time' support, even for systems without lastlog. New OpenSSH patches against 1.2.2 are also available, to enable the last login time features. Again, the function (in

Fw: Vyatta VC5 inplace of Xen-bridging.
I have 4 guest VMs installed on 1 host. One of them is Vyatta (VC5). Currently we are using default Xen-bridge for communication between VMs(inter-domain or intra-domain). I want to assign Vyatta(a guest VM) exclusively to replace Xen-bridging for VM to VM communication. Means the traffic sent from guest-1 to guest-2 bypass briging and route through vyatta(VM), instead of going to Dom0. As

Problems with "predict" function
Hello, I am synthesising some sales data over a twelve month period, and then trying to use the "predict" function, firstly to generate a thirteenth month forecast with upper and lower 95% confidence limits. So far so good But what I then want to do is add the upper sales value at the 95th confidence limit to the vector of thirteen months and their respective sales to create a

IAX2, can't receive calls
I have IAX2 (FWD) partially working. I can place calls from my Asterisk box but I cam unable to receive them (comes back as busy). I have my firewall forwarding the udp ports 5060, 4569, 5036 and 10000 thru 20000 to my asterisk server. I think I have the firewall correctly setup as I can forward other services to their appropriate servers. I have no mail box on the one account (the one I'm

No dial tone on BT100
I'm seeing all sorts of problems and it's probably more of my lack of experience than anything else. I have a BT100 running 1.0.6.7 code. When I go to the status page it says it's not registered (hmm, that's not good). I also can't get dial tone but I can dial! I'm afraid I'm lost any good pointers? I've done a sip debug and all I'm seeing for the BT100 -

[OT] SPA-3000 loudness
Just a note to those of us with the SPA-3000 that have had a hard time with the 'volume' of calls from the PSTN (we're on the line they're on the PSTN). Anyway I change the parameter: PSTN To SPA Gain to 6 and the volume is fine (it's under the PSTN Line tab). I don't remember seeing this on the list so I thought I'd add it here. Guess I should add it to the wiki (a

Multivariate ARMA Model
Hi R-Community, so far I dealt with univariate processes and used the function "arima" to estimate an ARMA(1,1)-model. For multivariate processes there are the functions "estVARXar" and "estVARXls" from package "DSE". But how can I estimate an VARMA(1,1)-model, or even better determine the orders and estimate the parameters? Much thanks in advance, Hagen
