Paradox 16 bit crashes with page fault
Hi!
I was able to install my good old Paradox 5, a 16-bit application. But when I start it, it crashes after some (correct) Dialogboxes with that trace:
> wine 'C:\Programme\PDOXWIN\PDOXWIN.EXE'
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0xffffffff at address 0x11f7:0x00000f02 (thread 0018), starting debugger...

Samba / NT / Win98 and Browsing
Hey all,
Our scenario is hopefully quite simple. A client has a MS Small Business
Server and about 6-8 Win98 clients. There are also two SCO v5 boxes, which
are running samba 2.0.3 (the precompiled version). From the NT box, we can
see the SCO servers, but from the Win98 boxes, the SCO servers are not
visible. Samba is configured to register its name with the NT WINS server,
and I'd

mysql can't connect from localhost -strange behavior
Hey all,
I've been having some trouble creating a mysql user that can connect to
the database from localhost. It's always been a straight forward thing to
do in the past, so its time for a sanity check, if you guys don't mind.
Ok, so here's the actual command with actual simplified password that I'm
using. It's on localhost so I don't think it's a security threat

[LLVMdev] Building pass out of source with cmake: undefined symbol error
Hmmm, I just thought of something. Perhaps I need to set the MODULE cmake flag (via -DMODULE=ON)? I will try this today. (I remembered the LOADABLE_MODULE=1 flag in the makefile, and the if ( MODULE ) check in the AddLLVM cmake module.)

[LLVMdev] Building pass out of source with cmake: undefined symbol error
Ah! Think I figured it out -- it's rtti. When I build with -fno-rtti, the spurious symbol disappears. Blargh, that was complicated. I'm going to try an out-of-source cmake build now. So far this has been a soliloquy, hope it helps someone else.

[LLVMdev] Building pass out of source with cmake: undefined symbol error
Still no go. I'm going to experiment building out of source manually with the cmake build and autotools build. I should've mentioned that I'm attempting this with the hello world pass example.

linux server completely hangs copying files with samba
hi,
i'm experiencying a strange problem with a mandrake 9.0 machine,
kernel 2.4.19, samba (different versions, including latest).
when I copy large amount of data from any win98 machine to a share
directory on linux, after a random time the linux machine hangs; not
responding even to ctrl-alt-canc, only possibility is to reset.
I was using a realtek 8139 (driver 8139too) which I know

3.0.21c and big wmv or mpg files
Hi @all,
are there any problems known with 3.0.21c and bigger video files (mpg
and wmv greater than 700 MB)?
Received the information that these files cannot copied from XP to Samba

How to find STRESS criteria in MDS when there are negative eigenvalues....
Hi,
I want to know whether there is any function in R to find STRESS after using cmdscale and estimating the coordinates, I have written these functions to find stress (for p =1,2,3,4,5)
stress<-rep(0,5)
for(p in 1:5)
{
datahat<-cmdscale(d,p)
deltahat<-as.matrix(dist(datahat))
a<-0
b<-0
for(i in 1:n)
{
for(j in 1:n)
{
a<-d[i,j]^2+a
b<-(d[i,j]-deltahat[i,j])^2+b
}
}

Stress in multidimensional scaling
Hello,
We are trying to find a function to compute "stress" in our
multidimensional scaling analysis of a dissimilarity matrix. We've used
"dist()" to create the matrix and "cmdscale()" for the scaling. In order
to determine the number of dimensions we would like to plot stress vs.
dimensions. However, we cannot find a pre-made command. It seems that

interpretation of stress in NMDS
Among those users of Primer, stress values greater than 0.3 are
interpreted as "questionable". Using both isoMDS and metaMDS (vegan
package), the stress values returned are much higher using my own data
and using examples provided in R Help. For example Rstress = 8.3, and
the stressplot r2 = 0.99 indicating (to me) that the ordination is OK.
I am guessing that the "stress"

isoMDS and stress
Hi all,
I try to calculate the stress of a configuration using the formula in
the isoMDS help, but I don't have the same result than the stress
returned by isoMDS :

> library(MASS)
> data(swiss)
> swiss.x <- as.matrix(swiss[,-1])
> swiss.dist <- dist(swiss.x)
> swiss.mds <- isoMDS(swiss.dist)

Stress-Testing Asterisk
Hi All,
I was wondering, what tools are readily available out
there in Asteriskland for me to use in stress/load
testing asterisk box I have in the lab. I want to
observe how my box holds out under heavy/light/medium
load.
Thanks,
Jeng

Stress Testing IVR
Hi,
How can I stress test an asterisk IVR? I am looking for some kind of
sip phone which can be "programmed" to send out digits after specified
time to simulate users pressing menu items. If it can originate large
number of calls simultaneously then it's great!
Does any one have any recommendations ? Any other method to stress
test an IVR call flow?
with regards,
raj

Stress with MDS
Hi,
I am looking for the best multidimensional configuration for my data (47*47
distance matrix).
I ve tried classical metric (cmdscale) and non metric MDS (isoMDS, nmds)
but it is now difficult to choose the best solution because of the
uncertainties in the definitions of the "stress" function.
So, same problem, several questions :
1. Statistical consideration : With

stress-test realtime voicemail with sipp
We are in the process of implementing realtime voicemail. I was wanting
to "stress-test" the system to see if or when it would fall over.
Is it possible to use sipp to create say 250 calls, each of which leaves
a message in the voicemail ?
My dialplan is currently
[default]
exten => stress,1,Answer()
exten => stress,2(vm),Voicemail(7777|su)
exten => stress,3,Hangup()

stress testing
Does anyone know how to stress test samba without getting a whole
room of people to login to all the computers at once ? perhaps some
kind person has coded up a nice app that can be run on the server ??
just curious..

Firewall stress test
Hi all,
We want to do some stress testing of firewall configurations/hardware.
We have discovered hping that seems a great tool for this, but funny
enough Shorewall cuts it !!! even when you leave ports open :)
So besides hping, any tool for this? Why is shorewall cutting this
traffic?
Thanks in advance. Regards.

Stress Test new system
All:
Getting ready to put the system in production.
Any suggestions on "stress testing" the system? I'd like to initiate
say 10 sip phone calls to make sure the provider has the bandwidth. Can
you do that in CLI? I've called 4 numbers simultaneously with the hard
phones I currently have and am thinking of adding 6 or so soft-phones to
various pc's to make a total of
