Memory leak in Samba with APW printing configuration ?
Hi, On Samba 3.0.2a on debian stable with a 2.6.5 kernel, each time I use APW to configure my printers, smbd takes more and more memory and the kernel does an Out of Memory (I have 512 Mo RAM). It's Xerox printers. Is the problem known (and corrected in 3.0.3rc1) or is it new ? Thanks for the answer. Cordialy, -- Yohann F.

multiple dimensional diag()
Hi I have two arbitrarily dimensioned arrays, "a" and "b", with length(dim(a))==length(dim(b)). I want to form a sort of "corner-to-corner" version of abind(), or a multidimensional version of blockdiag(). In the case of matrices, the function is easy to write and if a=matrix(1,3,4) and b=matrix(2,2,2), then adiag(a,b) would return: [,1] [,2] [,3] [,4] [,5]

Setting up Pointing and Click Printing through APW on Win2k Machine
First off I have read the SAMBA 2.2 printer documetation and Samba Printing Documentation for 3.0. And searched the Internet through Google and did not come up with much. Maybe it is how I am doing search I don't know. I had some success using CUPS for Point and Click printing using cupaddsmb command. I could get the print drivers to download on W2K and XP. But, I could not get the the

SuSE 8.2 with Samba 2.2.7a, smb.conf is at end. (Hostname=outside) This box runs VMware with a Windows 2000 client configured as a workgroup member (hostname=RNOME-W2K). I created a Linux user account for the W2K machine, edited etc/passwd to add a "$" at the end of the username for the machine, and added the machine account and my user account to the Linux ntadmin group. Whenever trying to add a driver to

APW: Print Driver not Storing for some printer types
Hi there. I'm using samba 3.0.2 as a printserver. It's been working for ages and I upgraded it the other day to see if it fixed this problem I've been having trying to get printer drivers stored onto the server. The mechanism for uploading drivers seems to be working fine but I've recently got two new printers: an HP laserjet4200tn & and OKI c5100. No matter what I seem to

smb panic when adding printer with apw
Hi, I'm using samba 3.3.15 as domain member in an w2k8 ad. We're using the w2k3/xp add printer wizard to add a printer to the server. Since the update from 3.2.15 to 3.3.15 the apw fails when clicking on the "finish" button. At the same time a smb panic occurs and fills the smbd log with the lines below. spoolss printing: downloading printing preferences in W2K
I have heard something about a 'known bug in 2.2.4' so this might already be known. If so, I just want to get confirmation... I have a new samba 2.2.4 running on a RH7.2 box, running solely as printserv. The spoolss printing functionality is working fine: uploading drivers works ok (aside from a few APW quirks if you change drivers). I'm using CUPS as unix printing backend. The

'point-and-print' general questions
I have gotten 'point-and-print' working, but there are a couple small issues/questions I am trying to get my grasp around: - rpcclient print-1201 -U root%secret -c 'enumdrivers' this lists the drivers twice (I saw one other post about this, without any followup) - When adding drivers via the Windows APW, after uploading the drivers and the APW closing - are you supposed to
