I WANT to be a wine user.
Hello,
I spent time this weekend trying to compile wine on my home computer. The machine is a Sun Microsystems X86 box running Solaris 10 operating system. I have the freeware including gmake and gcc installed and in the path.
I managed to get ./configure to run, but had to use --exclude-network-build and --exclude-pp-build or something like that to make it work.

SAMBA install on IRIX 6.5
I am having problems with Samba on IRIX 6.5 authenticating via Active
Directory. Installing the tardist of 3.0.21c did not give me
kerberos/ldap/adc capabilities even though Kerberos and LDAP were
prereq's. With OpenLDAP and Kerberos5 installed, my configure fails. I
am trying this:
./configure --libdir=/usr/lib --includedir=/usr/include
--prefix=/usr/samba --with-ldap --with-ads

Need Solaris 8 Version that Works with AccessCheck()
I am having a problem verifying file permissions from a Windows machine
using AccessCheck() through a Samba share with files residing on a Solaris 8
workstation. Is there a version of Samba that is known to work with
AccessCheck() queries from Windows?
The version of Samba I have currently is 3.0.10. This is the latest version
that I found from SUN freeware for Solaris 8. I would like to try

Installing R on 64-bit Solaris 2.8 --- follow-up
Hello R-users,
thanks to Brian Ripley and Roger Peng for there prompt replies on
installing R on a Solaris 64-bit machine. R is now running and seems to be
doing fine. I realy would like to have access to the manuals so I can
climb most of the learning curve on my own -- I am a long time user of
Splus, hence I am not expecting the learning curve to be too steep. On the
Sun machine that R is

configure, config.site and TCLTK_CPPFLAGS
Hi,
I am trying to configure R-1.8.0-patched (fresh rsync) for machines
with the tcltk files in unorthodox locations. I specified
a TCLTK_CPPFLAGS='/usr/freeware/include/' in the file config.site
but it seems that a '# no special path needed' is added when running
configure, causing trouble (See the excerpt from config.site below).
This was working with R-1.7.1. I am not an

blibpath changes for AIX
Hi all,
lately I've built a RPM for OpenSSH 3.6.1p2 on AIX using the OpenSSL
installation that comes with IBM's "AIX Toolbox for Linux". The latter
by default installs in the /opt/freeware directory, so I've ran
configure with the option '--with-ssl-dir=/opt/freeware'.
This has worked fine for former versions of OpenSSH, but with 3.6.1p2,

Samba sessions
Hi,
We have implemented a new AIX 5.3, P55A using Samba...we have about 70
users online most of the day. We assign a particular Samba share to
everyone when they login so it shows up in their Windows Explorer. Is
it standard that we see so many "smbd" processes running when I do a "ps
-ef"? Here is a portion of the output below. We have been experiencing
lag at times
