Dear Samba-Team,
I already wrote to Jeremy Allison an he told me to post my problem to you:
I have the following problem:
The smbd and winbindd start fine, everthing seems to be okay, all users can be authenticated.
But a few minutes later the winbindd is suddenly unable to authenticate some users against the Domain. You can see it in the snapshot. Messages like "Unable to initgroups"

HELP! initialise_groups/initgroups input/output error
Hello everyone,
I asked about this problem a few days ago because I am
at a loss as to what is causing it. Below is the
message I posted. I am resending it because I could
really use some help, and because the address I
originally sent it from has been inundated with
message after message containing the Kaspersky virus.
I must say that it is sad that people that send
messages to mailing lists are

iPlanet Bug and PDC Problem
Hey Guys,
Ok, I've got a 2.2.9pre3 Samba box compilied with LDAP. I had to use
2.2.9cvs cause 2.2.8a has some bug with iPlanet that doesn't allow it
to compilie properly.... Anyway, I've got a 2.2.8 box setup with:
security = server
password server = mirage (the 2.2.9 Solaris box)
so when I try to loggin to the domain that the 2.2.8 box serves I get

I keep getting the following message in the Samba Logs. I am running Samba

Thanks.

lock request at offset?
I was trying to copy swf file (35MB) from a windows machine to my
samba share. It told me
"There is not enough disk space". However, it lets me copy it in
another share. I didn't notice anything different with the share I am
having problem with. I noticed the following messages in the log:

Print Server Decision
I would really appreciate some help on deciding how to replace my NT Print
Servers. Currently I'm running Samba 2.2.2 on Suse 7.0 on a s/390.
I've setup SPOOLSS with 11 Printers at the moment and I'm experiencing some
errors in the logs.
These two errors are dispersed throughout the log.smbd file:

winbind trouble under load?
We have a large W2K domain with numerous terminalservers at the local
sites. Those sites also have a linux-2.2.20 server with samba-2.2.5.
The samba is used to store the profiles for both the terminalservers
and for the windows 2000/xp clients.
I use winbind and have joined the server to the domain without problem. I
can set rights on directories and so on. However from time to time when the

NeXT // Broken _POSIX_SAVED_ID patch
Ok, for those running NeXT and other platforms with broken/missing
_POSIX_SAVED_ID please try this patch, and anyone that has spent any
amount of time dealing with this problem.
I believe it's right.
BTW, this patch is no where near as big as it looks. The patch was
done against an earily version of the tree which had an issue with
white space.

AD Primary Group Masked by Local Primary Group
Solaris 8, Samba 3.0.1, Winbind with LDAP backend and security = ads.
This may or may not be a problem, depending on what is "expected behaviour".
We came across a user that was defined both locally and in AD. Their local
primary group, call it "localgrp", was not the same as their global primary
group, call it "globalgrp". One important note is that by using an

Bug in Configurator.change_privilege?
Hello.
I have discovered that mongrel does not correctly take on all the
groups of the requested user/group combination. It seems that while
the specified user and group is correctly activated, all the other
groups that are associated with this user are not enabled and the
group permissions remain the same as the caller (i.e. root).
This problem (and solution) is discussed in the Ruby Forum:

Dovecot Alpha 4
Hi
We've been using Dovecot as our primary IMAP and POP3 server for around
70,000 users for a couple of months now. On the whole, we've been very
pleased with the performance of Dovecot - and are extremely grateful to the
developers! However, we have had a few issues, some of which we have yet to
resolve.
We chose Dovecot because it was the only IMAP/POP3 server we could find that
