Samba PDC and XP Pro Problem. (Not signorseal - fixed that one some time ago)
Hi, This is a simple query and may well have been answered in the mailing list archives but my searching can't find an answer to my specific problem. My PDC is Samba 2.2.3 on Redhat 7.3, clients are a mix of Win 2k and XP Pro laptops. The Win 2k laptops work fine (all service packs applied) and allow any domain user to log on to any of the 2k laptops. However the XP laptops if I try logging

RE: Browsing cont'd
Don't forget to add the #PRE after the host info; that way it preloads it. Create one lmhosts file for the Win boxes, and copy to either \windows (win9x) \winnt\system32\drivers\etc (NT/Win2k/XP) then open a DOS Prompt and type nbtstat -R to flush/refresh the cached info. The samba box's hosts go in /etc, /lmhosts go in /etc/samba (if you're using the current defaults. Put the

typical performance on 10mbit switched network
I've never been happy with my samba box's network performance..... I see about 60K/s between 1 client and my samba server the load average on the server is nearly 0 and it's reading from an ide raid5 so i don't think that's a bottleneck. I'm running samba 2.2.7 with socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192 and log level 2 (i know

RPC protocol error with one user on login (64 bit svr 2003 client - samba 3.0.14a PDC)
This user is attemting to log in on a win2003 64 bit client to a PDC running 3.0.14a. The user is able to log on on another machine (32 bit, I don't have another 64 bit machine) There was a local user with the same username but that user was deleted after adding the machine to the domain. I cannot see an error in a level 5 log from the client. I see nothing in the windows event log. I did

Problems with netlogon batch
Hi there, we are pretty sure to have our Samba version 1.9.18p10 configured for running a logon.bat which mounts a SMB filesystem on Win95 client logon. Funnily enough we see the message "Win NT logon script: Executing logon script" but obviously this is not actually true, as the filesystem is not mounted after this message box (a DOS box flashes up briefly as well)... Exporting nlme summary
I'm trying to export the results of my summary data for the object horton.nlme, but failing miserably. Running summary(horton.nlme) works fine, but both write.table and write.csv return the error "cannot coerce class 'c("summary.lme", "nlme", "lme")' into a data.frame". I know I can copy and paste the output from the summary function, but

a question about function eval()
Hi, I have a question about the usage of eval(). Wonder if any experienced user can help me out of it. I use eval() in the following function: semireg.pwl <- function(coef.s=rnorm(1),coef.a=rnorm(1),knots.pos=knots.x,knots.ini.val=knots.val){ knotn <- length(knots.pos) def.par.env <- sys.frame(1) print(def.par.env) print(environment(coef.s)) tg <- eval( (parse(text=
