How does one move from a rpm based samba to tar.gz? In other words how do I upgrade from samba-2.2.1a-4 to samba-2.2.6.tar.gz. Do I remove samba : rpm -e samba? And what do I do with the other samba rpm packages: samba-client-2.2.1a-4 & samba-common-2.2.1a-4? Are they included with the tar package? Using RH7.2. Hi Everybody, I am running openssh 3.4p1 on solaris 8 sparc machine. We recently upgraded our openssh,which is version 3.4p1. when I do "ssh -V" it shows "openssl version mismatch....." and even I try to generate keys with ssh-keygen it gives same error message. I would appreciate if somebody let me know what could be the reason for this error and How I can resolve it.

We are trying to network boot a IBM PC with Linux using PXE. PXELINUX.0 gets downloaded properly. But when PXELINUX tries to get the /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/<xyz> config file, it keeps on rebooting. We found that the tftp server that we are using does not support tsize option. Could this be a problem. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards Arun

Just wanted to inform the folks on this mailing list that I have found a pxe/tftp/dhcp server for windows at http://www.hanewin.de/homee.htm - it's a small, simple, easy to configure app, and I have been booting linux images from it just fine. If you have a spare windows machine somewhere on your network, it's a lot easier than hacking RIS. I am not affiliated with hanewin in any way.

Dear all, I have a tree data matrix. For some trees I lack info about tree species, but I want to set them to be spruce. For some reason the tree species names on the remaining (non-NA) rows are changed into numbers (that I do not recognise).
