AW: user root is not accepted anymore
Hi,
thank you for your help, but it's not the reason. The user root is not managed in the smbpasswd file.
Any more ideas?
Thanks, Rudi

Samba 2.2.6 and RAS
Hi !
Does anyone know a possibility to allow RAS-Dialin for users in a fully
Samba-controlled Domain ?
Tried usrmgr in Windows, but got only errors. (Should this work ?)
Is there a possibility to make it on the command-line ? (Need not store the
callback-number)
Thanks in advance and kind regards

chan_capi: suppress calling number on outbound dialing?
Hi,
I just wonder, if it is possible, to suppress my own number on outbound
dials with chan_capi. I took a look into the sources and think it might
work with toggeling the "@" in front of the outbound msn in the
dialstring. (Dial(CAPI/@msn... vs. Dial(CAPI/msn...
But it doesn't work. Maybee I'm wrong and misunderstood the code.
Thanks for any answers!

"the change you want was rejected. Maybe you changed something you didn't have access to.""
Anyone ever get an error message such as this?
"the change you want was rejected. Maybe you changed something you
didn''t have access to.""
I haven''t been able to see this in testing, but I''m getting reports
out on the field from a few users trying to register to one of my
websites.

Thanks alot. I found the problem, with SIP firmware image was 2.* large size SIPDefault.cnf leads to Buffer overflow, I kept firmware_version field and deleted rest. That helped in upgrading the firmware to higher version.

Sanity, Manners and Shorewall Support
Hello Everyone,
This morning I received a personal email from a recent poster asking
"Why is Mr. Eastep so mean?". The post went on to explain that I had
responded abruptly to the person''s request for help and asked why I
wasn''t more helpful to people attempting to understand something new.
Good question.
Over the last nine months, I have been struggling to deal with

Fitting data to a sigmoidal curve
Hi-
I'm a biologist trying to figure out the growth rate of salamanders in
different ponds. I collected individuals from various populations at
different dates, and using the size and date collected, I want to figure out
the growth curve of each population. My question is: How do I fit my data to
a Gompertz function in R?
Thank you so much!

Fencing a Dell T110 II
I think I know the answer to this question based on all of the research
I've done, but figured I'd ask anyway.
I needed a couple of servers for an HA cluster, and our "order" guy here
ordered me a couple of Dell PowerEdge T110 II. I'd planned on using IPMI
to fence these things with, but later found out that this model is only
one of two PE servers Dell sells that has a

Population abundance, change point
I am trying to understand my population abundance data and am looking into
analyses of change point to try and determine, at approximately what point
do populations begin to change (either decline or increasing).
Can anyone offer suggestions on ways to go about this?
I have looked into bcp and strucchange packages but am not completely
convinced that these are appropriate for my data.
