Transferring the printer database
Is there a way to transfer a Samba printer "database" from one version to
another? I tried copying the .tdb files from v2.2.6 to v2.2.8pre1 but it
didn't seem to work. Some sort of upgrade path is needed here - it's a lot
of work to start over if you've got a lot of printers.

Password Aging Policies - SAMBA
I am new to SAMBA. I am using it with LINUX and I love it! Nice change from you know who.
I am sorry if this is a lame question, but I am setting up a Primary Domain Controller and a Backup Domain Controller. All the clients are Windows 2K or XP. I need the clients to reset their passwords every 30 days. I am having a hard time locating a procedure to set this feature. LINUX has 'chage'

Samba performance
Hi all.
I know this has probably been asked before, but I need a quick answer, and
didn't find anything on the net.
Has anyone done any benchmark comparisons of server speed from Win95
clients, accessing files on a Samba 1.9.17p1 server share, as compared to
an NT Server, running on the same server hardware? If so, how did Samba
1.9.17 measure up to the NT server?
I need an answer to this,

Why does my DomU keep going mad?
Hi All,
I''ve got a DomU that sometimes goes mad. I can''t ssh or usually even
console to it. The time I did manage to console I got a load of dumps
about being out of memory and swap, but couldn''t run any commands to
find out which process had gone mad :(
From Dom0 I can see the DomU at 100% CPU and can only stop it with a
destroy. What can I do/check to find

save to file
Hi,
What's the equivalent of "Save to File" from the R console File menu on an R routine? Just trying
to capture the whole R console into a text file when my code fails.

Help with reconnecting a faulty brick
Hi everyone.
I'm running a simple Gluster setup like this:
? * Replicate 2x1
? * Only 2 nodes, with one brick each
? * Nodes are CentOS 7.0, uising GlusterFS 3.5.3 (yes, I know it's old,
I just can't upgrade right now)
No sharding or anything "fancy". This Gluster volume is used to host VM
images, and are used by both nodes (which are gluster server and
clients).

Error: _netr_ServerAuthenticate2: netlogon_creds_server_check failed.
My configuration is a multi-subnet, multi-subnet Samba/OpenLDAP

the following error in /var/log/messages and in /var/log/samba/log.smbd...
_netr_ServerAuthenticate2: netlogon_creds_server_check failed. Rejecting

IPFW disconnections and resets
Hi,
I am using IPFW on FreeBSD 4.11
I am facing two problems:
- SSH sessions timeout after a while
- When I run "/sbin/ipfw -q -f flush" in the rules script all connection
get reset (and I am thrown out of the box).
Is this standard functioning of ipfw or do I need to change any
configuration?
Thanks,
Siddhartha

update.packages(checkBuilt=TRUE) returns Error: invalid version specification NA in 2.9.0
I installed R-2.9.0 yesterday, and followed the instructions in the R for
Windows FAQ, 2.8 What's the best way to upgrade? It reads "run
update.packages(checkBuilt=TRUE, ask=FALSE) in the new R and then delete
anything left of the old installation." I did this but it returned an
error. It's the checkBuilt=TRUE which causes it, though I don't know why:

In fact, what would be the difference between reconnecting the brick
with a wiped FS, and using
gluster volume remove-brick vmstore replica 1 master1:/mnt/bricks/vmstore
gluster volume add-brick myvol replica 2

[PATCH] Fix logic in mad detection
If neither --enable-mad nor --disable-mad was given, try to find mad.
If it wasn't found, warn the user, but don't fail.
If --enable-mad was given, fail if mad is not found. If --disable-mad
was given, don't warn the user, as the user already knows that mad won't
be enabled.
mad is not and should not be considered a hard requirement, as it's
absent in most distros due to

another question on shapefiles and geom_point in ggplot2
Manuel:
I changed your variable names from x to 'long' and y to 'lat' on the
riqueza_out.csv file.
The code below should do what you want. Also, since the legend title is kind of
long, I broke it
down into three lines so you can see more plot area. I am cc'ing the other
groups so more people
use it if needed.
