Re: Filelocking-Problem: Mars_NWE together with Samba
Hi there, we've got the following problem, while Windows-Clients works with samba and a DOS-Client connects over Mars_NWE to the same Linux-Server: When the DOS-Client opens a file on the linux-server and the WinClient opens the same file, and when both clients want to write the same file, the windows-client gets an error and crashes. We tried it only with the windows-clients and there

Win 9x and WinNT Clients connecting to Samba-Server
Hello, I know I should get rid of the problem by my own, but unfortunally I failed. So I ask: I`ve a subnet of win9x and WinNT clients connecting to our Linux file server (no more servers in this subnet) via samba 2.02. All win95 can see and mount services of the Samba server. But win98 and WinNT can only see the server but can not connect to a service. I`ve no encryption and security= user in

Samba 3.0.11 smbd hangs
Hi Guys, I have experienced an issue when the smbd stops responding, and after cannot kill the process, using SIGTERM or SIGKILL. A reboot cured the problem. I had the same problem once again a couple of days later. I realised that both times I had changed my smb.conf file directly, using vi, and shortly before the hang occured. The changes to the file were very minor, and the two were

Optimization
Hi, I would like to minimize the value of x1-x2, x2 is a fixed value of 0.01, x1 is the quantile of normal distribution (0.0032,x) with probability of 0.7, and the changing value should be x. Initial value for x is 0.0207. I am using the following codes, but it does not work. fr <- function(x) { x1<-qnorm(0.7,0.0032,x) x2=0.01 x1-x2 } xsd <- optim(0.0207, fr,

Win2K and samba 2.0.6
> 1) RE: Windows 2000 > by "Alex Yu" <yua@artlover.com> 2.0.6 when compiled with crypt support (FreeBSD 3.4-STABLE) is working fine with encrypted passwords where the FreeBSD host is a domain member and I'm athenticating against the domain PDC. I had to update to 3.4-STABLE from 3.4-RELEASE to get speeds up to something similar to 3.3-RELEASE, and as of the 2/14

Samba LDAP Failover
Hi, I have a quite "simple" setup for a particular customer that loves redundancy and failover. PDC + BDC with LDAP Passwords on two 389-ds in multimaster node + several samba member servers Actually pointing singularly on both the systems everything works great. As soon as I modify my passdb backend line from the single form to the form containing both backends that is from passdb

Case sensitive password Win95 client
Hello, I need an answer to the following problem: I have a Samba server with domain logons enabled and with encrypt passwords=no. So I don't use the smbpasswd file, only the Unix password files. Hi: I have a Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Ed. as Domain controller, an its current domain functional level is 'Windows Server 2003'. R graphs differ from exported one
Hello everybody! This is my first mail so I'll write a couple of lines of self-introduction. My name is Massimiliano, I'm from Italy and I'm studying Mathematical Engineering. I started using R in my Statistics course and have to use it to make a project which I'll discuss at the end of the course. The problem I'd like to ask you about follows. Suppose I have imported a
