Winbind on HPUX 11, some small progress
Hi All,
Well, i've managed to enable some debugging in syslog, I had to put in
/etc/syslog.conf
;*.debug

So at least I have an error which is being returned into syslog from
winbind.
This is what I get from winbind

pam_winbind.so user expired password config for Solaris /etc/pam.conf
I'm trying to configure my Solaris 9 pam.conf for CDE login/password
expiration using
ADS security on W2003. If my AD account password is in good standing,
my config works great in /etc/pam.conf. However - I'm having trouble
getting it to recognize that my password in AD has expired to ask me
to reset it on the CDE screen. With the config below - it just tells

from this page Creating Solaris domU virtual disk images at
OpenSolaris.org
<http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/xen/How-To-07-2006/Solaris-domU/>
and it works out of the box!
That''s cool again!
If you''re going to do the same (and I encourage you to do so!) be aware

Domain users are not able to login through ftp.
Hi,
I have successfully setup a Solaris 8 server that allows Windows AD Users to login to it (through winbind). The problem is
that ALL such users can now do so. Is there a way to control which users are allowed to login while others are denied access?
I have tried adding
valid users = user
and deny to specific users via
invalid users = user
It's not working.

which effected the ability to change an expired password:

On remete radius server I've information in logs that authentication was accepted(!).

2 poss improvements to 3.6.1p2/passexpire21
Hi again folks,
The new passexpire21 patch works well (ta Darren) but...
1) is it possible to display the "your password has expired and needs
changing"
to the users *before* calling the password change routine?
ie ssh shows...
$: ssh 193.62.122.26
ade45 at 193.62.122.26's password:
Changing password for "ade45"

dtracing a forked process OR dynamic library
Hi,
I am tracking down a problem and would like to know how I can follow a
forked process with my dtrace script, or how I can trace a dynamic library.
Here is the problem. I am tracing dtlogin, and specifically I am trying
to determine what error libpkcs11`<routine> is returning. It turns out
dtlogin forks a lot of processes, and I believe the second forked
process is the one that winds

[DTrace] %CPU, %Mem, %Disk and %Net by PID
G''Day Folks,
Well, this one was my white whale. I now have a demonstration program
that uses Perl, Kstat, /proc/*/usage, /proc/*/psinfo, and DTrace.
The program itself is more of a prototype, I want to get serious about it
and rewrite it in C. It currently has output like,
# prustat -t5 -snet 10
PID %CPU %Mem %Disk %Net COMM
