Strange slapd behavior...
Hi all, I have problems on one CentOS 4.6 with slapd. Namely, after trying to start it (via /etc/init.d/ldap start) it waits for very long in configuration check. Interestingly, when I try to start it manually, but without "-u ldap" option it starts immediately. What puzzles me more is the use of NETLINK socket when started with -u option that doesn't appear in strace output

Unicast or Multicast?
if you read ahead you'll figure that the infrastructure of the network 'en gros' isn't made for it (yet). because of this (and not just because I am a fan of) I propose other trials with overlay networks which could (under proper application) even be more efficient than the multicast protocol(s) itself. All authentication tests using sambaclient works as expected, I can authenticate logon requests, but when I use windows 98 clients authentification fails with some password lenghts :-?. I know it sounds weird but I can reproduce it as many times as I want. i.e: password "aaa" -> smbclient - always works

smbclient sending output to stdout
I'm using smbclient 3.0.22-13.16-SUSE-SLES10. I'm using the smbclientparser Perl module to use smbclient from within my Perl scripts. Whenever I perform a GET on a file, smb outputs this line to stdout: Domain=[mydomain] OS=[Windows 5.0] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager] This results in hundreds of mail messages in my local mail queue. How can I turn this off, so that smbclient

Hello, This is my first post ever in a mailing-list so I hope I do the things correctly. First, thank's to the author for these amazing tools. With Isolinux, I am making my own DVD multiboot with multiple liveCDs combined. I can get to work everything without even modifying livecds hierarchy. But now I need an important function that I can't get to work: DISPLAY boot.msg In fact to be
