[LLVMdev] Problem in installing LLVM-2.8
Hi,
I am using Ubuntu wubi and the version of the llvm is 2.8. I followd the instruction in the llvm site ("http://llvm.org/docs/GettingStarted.html") and tried to run the hello program. Then I compiled the C file to llvm bitcode (clang -O3 -emit-llvm hello.c -c -o hello.bc). But when I wanted to run the bitcode file (lli hello.bc), it says: "lli: hello.bc: Invalid

OCFS install trouble w/ new kernel - unresolved symbols
I successfully have OCFS running in a two-node RAC environment using RHAS
3 (2.4.21-4.EL) using Qlogic 2310 cards. IO performance, however, was
terrible with the combination of OCFS and the Qlogic cards. After
extensive testing, OCFS did fine on its own, as did the fibre cards. Put
the two together, and everything literally ran twice as slow.
Support at Qlogic pointed me to

Is = now the same as <- in assigning values
I?m a PhD student at the University of Warsaw, and have started using R.
In many books they specify to use <- instead of = when assigning
values, and this is also mentioned in older posts on the R website.
However, it seams to me that some update has occured, becuase I
continously get the same result wether I use <- or =.
I would be extremely helpful for any answer to this.

New to Samba
I am new to samba but becuase I use squid and I want to track my authenticated users I installed samba 3 but keep hitting dead ends on how to add it to the domain etc. I can't seem to even get the smbd to startup. I got swat keying into the smb.conf but it ended up in another directory so I don't think that is configured. I can't even find good documentation to see if samba is even

install totaly messed up
I have just moved to a new server and transfered all my files over etc and also installed wine using yum, however I had a script on my site that used wine (via exec command) that no longer worked after the transfer to the new server.
I tried a few things on the server thinking it was a problem with current setup but got nowhere, I then uninstalled wine via "yum erase wine" and

I'm currently using a Logitech headset which works well (except the echo
it generates toward the other caller when I turn up the gains too high),
but it just doesn't carry well - in fact, I can't carry it in my

[LLVMdev] Using StartJnjvmWithJIT from jnjvm.cpp in VMKit
Hi
Does anybody use *StartJnjvmWithJIT* from jvjvm.cpp in VMKit?
Becuase , I am looking to use without JIT when we are running the Java
byte code. My concern is StartJnjvmWithJIT getting three argument *int
argc, char** argv, char* mainClass* - why we need to pass *argv and
mainclass* arguments here?
please help me on this.
Regards
Sri.

Dynamic Programming in R
Hi R users,
I am looking to numerically solve a dynamic program in the R environment. I was wondering if there were people out there who had expereinced success at using R for such applications. I'd rather continue in R than learn Mathlab.
A concern that has been cited that may discourage R use for solving dynamic programs is its memory handling abilities. A senior researcher had a lot of
