I was looking through my o'reilly book and according to it all of the ldap inputs that would be in smb.conf are not supposed to be there in samba 3.0. How do you specify which ldap server to use and whatnot?

Hello, I am running Freebsd 4.5 on a alpha based server. I got the samba source from the cvs [ 2.2 branch ] and I am running into come make problems. I used ./configure --with-ldapsam --with-ssl --with-quota --with-cups and after that gets done i type in make and i get the following errors: alphatest# make Using FLAGS = -DHAVE_CRYPT_DECL -I/usr/local/ssl/include -O -I./popt -Iinclude

I searched the mailing list archives and found one post relevant to my problem, but it was not specific enough to solve my problem. I am reading in a large file of data (I believe it is in ASCII format). I have tried reading the file in as a data frame and as a list, and both methods result in unwanted levels being created which leads to problems when I try to copy or reference certain cells.

How does samba handle NT usernames that contains spaces. Also NT can have long usernames while Linux can only have 8-10 character long usernames. Is there anyway you can map those long usernames to Linux? Thanks MattB

One of our employees is having an odd problem with Adobe Photoshop. Files he saves with Photoshop are saved with permissions 777, completely ignoring both the create mask and the default ACL for the directory. How would i go about mapping the NT group "everyone" to samba or linux. I would like to be able to just give a nt specified group permissions to a share. My samba server is member of a domain and i figured out how to authenticate with the NT server using domain security. Any answers would be appreciated. thanks MattB
