RedHat + XP workgroup
{Sorry for long post) I'm attempting to set up a workgroup share on a RedHat 7.3 box (Samba 2.2.5-1) for a network of Windows XP Pro machines. These machines also log into a Novell Netware 4.11 server (Client32 4.83e) for email, so I don't want to set up another domain controller (for more logins) on this network (academic K-12, lot of teachers and elementary kids). What is the best cost effective solution for a small office: I need 3 FXS & 2 FXO. Can I hookup a TDM400P and 2 X100P on the same computer? I read that to run the conference app Meetme you

IAXTEL toll-free gateway
I have been playing around with asterisk for a week or so now and haven't had too much trouble getting things to work but one thing seems to puzzle me. I have been patient hoping that there was a configuration error on the server or that the toll-free gateway was down but nothing has changed. I have the following configuration context for IAXTEL: [iaxtel] exten =>

Soft SIP phones (with RING !!)
Hi folks, well the easiest soft phone I have found (from this list) is the x-ten. great little piece of software. BUT, on a windows machine I need to plug in a USB device and find the software to drive it which can actually use a normal handset (similar to the s100p) but can be used to actually generate/answer the calls and actually rings when a call is received. Any ideas ?? Gary .

Unable to create channel of type 'Zap'
I've just installed an X100P, built the kernel module, and tried to use it to make an outgoing call (via a phone connected to an ATA-186). However, I just get a reorder tone and see this on the console: -- Executing Dial("SIP/ata1-4409", "Zap/1/5551212") in new stack NOTICE[1200825920]: File app_dial.c, Line 481 (dial_exec): Unable to create channel of type

FreeBSD jail and unicorn
Hello, I''m using unicorn since a while, but now I try to run it the first time inside a FreeBSD jail. The initial start of unicorn works fine and it serves all the requests. But if I want to restart it using the USR2 signal, it (more or less) slowly starts using more and more CPU cycles. There is no error message in the logs and it quite hard to reproduce that error. In 1 of 20 tries,

Anyone using PHP52 packages from iuscommunity.org?
Hi, I need to use PHP 5.2 in my Centos 5.X servers. I've been using the one found in Testing for more than a year without problems but I feel that it is not being updated in a while, specially with the security issues. I found a post about this iuscommunity.org which maintains 5.2 and 5.3 rpm packages for Centos/RedHat but I'd like to know if anyone in this is using the 5.2 packages in

Web server becoming unresponsive : high load
Hi, I have a web server which is randomly becoming unresponsive. I've checked for hardware problems with no luck : - no ethernet errors - no disk errors - no memory errors So far I've managed to point the trouble at the web server since if I restart httpd (apache) it comes back to normal. This is not a shared server so I control (or at least like to think of) what is hosted so I have

Problems with motherboard support? INTEL DP43BF
Hi, I've installed Centos 5.5 (plus updates) in a machine with INTEL DP43BF motherboard. In order to make Linux detect the PCIs I've added the pci=assign-busses in my GRUB conf. Everything runs fine but within less than 2 days of uptime the machine simply freezes (black console no connectivity). This has happened more than one time so I'm considering to be a problem. Tips for motherboard with multiple PCI / PCI-e slots
Hi, I need to fit at least three NICs and I was looking for motherboard models that contain 3 or 4 CPI (or PCI-e) slots and works with CentOS. I had a problem in the past with some models that had a bug and did not work well with linux (ok with windows) so that's way I am asking this here. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
