Quotas not working after adding arbiter brick to replica 2
Thank you very much Sanoj, I ran your script once and it worked. I now have quotas again... Question: do you know in which release this issue will be fixed? > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: Re: [Gluster-users] Quotas not working after adding arbiter brick to replica 2 > Local Time: August 4, 2017 3:28 PM > UTC Time: August 4, 2017 1:28 PM > From: sunnikri at

Quotas not working after adding arbiter brick to replica 2
I tried to re-create manually my quotas but not even that works now. Running the "limit-usage" command as showed below returns success: $ sudo gluster volume quota myvolume limit-usage /userdirectory 50GB volume quota : success but when I list the quotas using "list" nothing appears. What can I do to fix that issue with the quotas? > -------- Original Message -------- >

Quotas not working after adding arbiter brick to replica 2
Hi mabi, This is a likely issue where the last gfid entry in the quota.conf file is stale (because the directory was deleted with quota limit on it being removed) (https://review.gluster.org/#/c/16507/) To fix the issue, we need to remove the last entry (last 17 bytes/ 16bytes based on quota version) in the file. Please use the below work around for the same until next upgrade. you only need to

[Gluster-devel] gfid and volume-id extended attributes lost
Ram, I sent https://review.gluster.org/17765 to fix the possibility in bulk removexattr. But I am not sure if this is indeed the reason for this issue. Ram, If you see it again, you can use this. I am going to send out a patch for the code path which can lead to removal of gfid/volume-id tomorrow. Quotas not working after adding arbiter brick to replica 2
Hi Sanoj, I copied over the quota.conf file from the affected volume (node 1) and opened it up with a hex editor but can not recognize anything really except for the first few header/version bytes. I have attached it within this mail (compressed with bzip2) as requested. Should I recreate them manually? there where around 10 of them. Or is there a hope of recovering these quotas? Regards, M. >

[Gluster-devel] gfid and volume-id extended attributes lost
Please use the systemtap script( https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/EGDa0ErwX0LV3y-gBYpfNA) to check which process is invoking remove xattr calls. It prints the pid, tid and arguments of all removexattr calls. I have checked for these fops at the protocol/client and posix translators. To run the script .. 1) install systemtap and dependencies. 2) install glusterfs-debuginfo 3) change the path

Quotas not working after adding arbiter brick to replica 2
Mabi, We have fixed a couple of issues in the quota list path. Could you also please attach the quota.conf file (/var/lib/glusterd/vols/ patchy/quota.conf) (Ideally, the first few bytes would be ascii characters followed by 17 bytes per directory on which quota limit is set) Regards, Sanoj On Tue, Aug 1, 2017 at 1:36 PM, mabi <mabi at protonmail.ch> wrote: > I also just noticed quite

@ pranith , yes . we can get the pid on all removexattr call and also print the backtrace of the glusterfsd process when trigerring removing xattr. I will write the script and reply back. Ram, As per the code, self-heal was the only candidate which *can* do it. Could you check logs of self-heal daemon and the mount to check if there are any metadata heals on root? +Sanoj Sanoj, Is there any systemtap script we can use to detect which process is removing these xattrs? Can't see user in status tab of swat
Hello all, I have a user logon on to my samba server that I cannot see in the status tab of swat. I can see all of my other logged on users. Does anyone know why this would happen. Thanks in advance. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free, easy-to-use web site design software http://sitebuilder.yahoo.com

Trying the configuration in nano.txt
Hi! (I sent other mails some time ago, about not-using the Julian''s patches). When I try the configuration from Nano.txt, having the Julian''s patches applied, only the first ''hop'' of the routing table "222" is used (according to tables shown in Nano.txt). I saw that this question was asked some time ago, with no answer. Maybe someone can tell me the

replPropertyMetaData & KCC issues after updating to Samba 4.5.0
Hello, Updated samba from 4.4.5 to 4.5.0. All DC's are Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS. I install samba from source(./configure,make,make install). Looking at the release notes I see the section on "replPropertyMetaData Chnages". I run 'samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix --yes' and see the errors and samba attempts to fix. ERROR: unsorted attributeID values in

GlusterFS mount with user quotas
I cannot seem to get the options for usrquota to work with the mount, assuming this isn?t supported? I can set volume level quota however, our GlusterFS is backing servers with user accounts that require quota restrictions. It seems like if those users are placed on the mount that uses GlusterFS, they have no restrictions on storage. Any solution for this? Currently using the native gluster

upload a file to new github repository
Though I've used version control systems before and even set up a couple over the years, and though it was simple to setup a github repository (which I did just a couple minutes ago), I can't figure out how to upload the first file to it. I'm logged in, on the repository's home page, but can't see an option for that. I also read instructions for set up on the web and the
