OT: problems with pam_mount
Hi,
I try to mount the samba shares with pam_mount automaticly on login (home folder).
I think pam had a problem with the kerberos ticket? The error 126?
I tested it with debian/wheezy and Xubuntu 14.04 LTS.
The manual mount work,...

NFS mounted directory
Hi,
Has anyone any ideas what is causing my smbd processes to crash? The files
being accessed via samba are on an NFS mounted directory. In the samba log
file I am getting the following errors:

Samba 2.2.6 Write Problem
Hi all,
recently I asked for help with a problem Samba had to write files
(http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba/2002-November/085003.html,
http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba/2002-November/085083.html).
Since that hasn't solved, and since it occurs regardless of changes
of the smb.conf, I'd like to post some passages of the smb log file
(log level 4) of the attempt to copy a file to

tdb locking issue - Solaris 10 and Samba 3.0.33
(Yes, I should upgrade Samba to 3.0.35).
We're running the Sun provided Samba daemon (SUNWsmbau and friends) on
Solaris 10 Generic_138888-08 (sparc).
Lots of Windows clients (mixed XP, 2003, 2008) hit this server and
periodically we'll start seeing smbd processes begin piling up. These
processes can't be killed with a normal kill -- only kill -9 will do
the trick.

Problem logging on to successfully joined domain
Hi!
I'm running Debian Sarge's "Samba 2.2.3a-14" and already successfully
joined the Win2k-client (SP3) to the Samba-PDC-domain.
Nevertheless, I can't logon to the domain, getting the error-message:
"The system cannot log you on to this domain because the system's
computer account in its primary domain is missing or the password on
that account is

Samba crashes on password change from Windows 2000 clients
Hi, i'm not subscribed to the list so could you please Cc back to me :)
Just discovered this problem today when my brother tried to change his
password. Windows sat there and eventually said that my domain couldn't be
found or something, this seemed very odd so I had a look in the logs and got
this show up...

HP-UX 9 problems (hangs on logout; tty isn't sane)
I'm trying to get OpenSSH 2.5.2p2 to run on HP-UX 9.05. I've had some
decent results, but I'm also seeing some problems.
I'm using the EGD (I configured with --with-prngd-socket=/tmp/entropy).
* Compiling required some changes, which I've attached. Two of the
changes are "hackish", and not at all suited to inclusion in the
source tree, but they might point

Samba (CentOS) + Windows 7 Ultimate 64 = no login
Hi,
I am trying to setup a CentOS staging server as part of my
development/testing setup. CentOS is working fine and I'm able to connect
via SSH and HTTP without isssue.
I want directly edit code on the CentOS server from my main tower running
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit but I'm struggling to authenticate a connection.
I'm at a point where Windows knows there is a share available but

AW: problem logging on to samba domain (pdc) from a win xp workstation
I had assumed that already and did that manually.
Might I have to change further keys on my xp workstation in the control
panel in order to become a domain member of my samba domain?
Why doesn't the workstation find the domain controller = samba pdc at
logon time? Do I have to modify any host file on XP, install a dns
server?
Cheers,
Dominik

Samba maps any user to nobody -> problem logging on to samba domain (pdc) from a win xp workstation
I did it all again. The samba workstation account smb_cl is all right.
My problem is that after I have joined my samba domain
the domain logon does not work.
At the logon prompt on my Win XP it says
- that no domain controller is available or
- that my machine account was not found.
My log.smbd says at the same time:
[2003/04/11 12:21:59, 0] smbd/password.c:authorise_login(872)

W2k no longer has Trust to samba pdc
SMB.conf, smbpasswd, log files attached to this message.
I have several W2k Workstations, with a SAMBA 2.2.3 PDC.
Looking at the logs it seems that stevedallas (W2K client) is getting
validation errors as "visitor"
(which DOES exist...)
I am not sure what happened, but I must have removed all of the important
parts of the
server validation.

problem logging on to samba domain (pdc) from a win x pworkstation
If I'm not mistaken, the sign or seal hack from samba2.2.3 is broken. Use
the newer hack or manually modify your registry.

Can't write to a disk share
Hi there. I'm running Samba 2.2.2 on a Red Hat 7.2 system. I've set up a
few disk shares (with the writable option set to yes), but I can't write to
them. I can read from them ok, so I don't know what the problem is. I'm
trying to write to the shares from a Windows 2000 Professional computer.
Here's a part of my logs that appear every time I try to write to a share:

Well, doesn't this last line *deny* the guest account (which
you defined just fine) the access you're intending to give it?

Clients hang on file access - Samba 3.0.6
Hi all, I've included copies of the relavent files below. I'm having a
bit of a problem with Samba in that when I try to access files on its
shared resources, I can browse to the shares fine, but the moment I
try to open a file, the client's file browser hangs. I've verified
that this is a problem on both my Mac (OS X 10.3.4), my Windows XP SP2
and WIndows XP SP1 machines.
