"no shared cypher", no matter what I try
Greetings,
I have had to reinstall my email server on another Linux (centos 7.6)
VPS, with a newer version of dovecot, other software and a brand new
letsencrypt certificate just for email withpostfix and dovecot (that
certificate works fine with postfix). Output of dovecot --version and
dovecot -n on the new server is below.
Now, messages ARE delivered in the right IMAP mailboxes, but when I

Trusted NT domains won't connect
Hi all,
I've been struggling with this problem for quite some time, and I'm
hoping someone will have an answer for me. I'm trying to use Samba to
authenticate against a campus-wide NT domain setup. As such, I can't
change any of the details of the NT domain.
The NT domains are set up as follows:

Is the "\\x.x.x.x" type tree connect request a client related feature?
Is the samba server a domain controller? Is this a classic domain or an
Active Directory domain.
If you are using a classic domain you probably want a WINS server
configured. I find it works better if the primary domain controller
is also the WINS server. In a classic domain, keep the "smb
ports" as the default ( "smb ports = 445 139.") What is the

Cannot authenticate from Mac
?I cannot access the Samba shares on my Ubuntu server from my Macbook. ?
?I do not know if I am interpreting the logs correctly, but I think the
username is not being passed to the server?
? ("[]\[]@[]"), resulting in a log in as guest.
?
?I am entering my user credentials while attempting to mount the share, and
have also tried mounting from the terminal passing my username:password.

Completely stumped as to why shares are not writable
I have been pulling my hair out for days trying to make the Samba
shares on my Ubuntu server writable.
My shares had been working previously, but I had to re-install Ubuntu
after which I could no longer write to them.
- I am running Samba v4.1.11 and am accessing the shares from a
Macbook with Mavericks.
- All the shares are mounted ext4 partitions, except for my home
directory. The mounted

Asterisk 1.6.1.6 crashing
Hello all,
I have a pretty much standard installation of an Asterisk 1.6.1.6 with no
PRI cards of any type (full VoIP).
Occasionally (it happens every 2 weeks or so), it just stops running. I was
using safe_asterisk but it seems that safe_asterisk did not restart it. I do
have the core dump file at /tmp/core.myservername-2009-10-20T18:36:20+0200
but it seems it's from an earlier crash. When

Can't ping samba box after a while
We've got Samba running on a CentOS box. The rest of the network is
Windows, controlled by a Small Business Server (Windows 2003). The Samba
box gets an IP using DHCP. The Windows 2003 server is the DHCP server.
When I reboot the samba box, I can ping it by name for a while. "ping
myservername" works fine. After a few hours, though, I get "Ping request

答复: Is the "\\x.x.x.x" type tree connect request a client related feature?
Thanks for your attention, Gaiseric.
Sorry , but I had a little confused. Did you mean that the problem was something relevant with the DNS? However in my impression, I might not do anything about the DNS.
I have some clues that might be helped:
1) First of all, my samba server version set is "max protocol = SMB2", and the final protocol according to the negotiation result is smb2.10.

Hi,
I want to implement a small network using Win 2k and Samba... I only
want to create a Windows 'workgroup' and to use user level security with
plaintext passwords... Just trying to keep things very simple....
I have implemented Samba 2.2.4 on Slackware Linux 7.1 .... Using a
minimal smb.conf:
[global]
workgroup = bentley
netbios name = blackie

Update to Mounting Win 98 and 2k shares
Ok, typing:
mount -t smbfs -o username=username,password=password //Share/File /mnt
worked! It loaded the contents of the folder I wanted to acces into the mnt directory. This is goad, but I would like to store them all in one directory. I tired to do a ... /mnt/directoryname but it wouldn't work.
Also, how do I set things up so that Linux will automatically load this share on startup
