2.999 unable to join domain - update
Hi.
I've done some more debugging, and it looks like samba doesn't fall back
properly to port 139.
If I query a W2K box ( port 445 enabled ), the conversation works fine.
If I query my own samba server ( port 445 enable ) , it works fine. If I
limit my own server to port 139 using smb ports, or query an NT4 system,
the conversation fails. smbclient -NL server -p 139 fails even to a w2k

Two-way forest trust with selective authentication and SAMBA 3.6 as member
Hello Everybody,
we have authentication problems with the mentioned configuration.
Current situation:
We have two Windows 2008 R2 domains (currently on 2003 level) in
separate forests. Recently we created a two-way trust with selective
authentication between them.
A Debian Squeeze LTS machine running SAMBA 3.6.6 (latest Backports
version) is member of our primary domain and provides file

unable to save share permissions changes with 3.0
Hi.
I'm trying to change the permissions on a samba share on my system. I've
connected to it using W2K and tried adding an account to the access list
as a trial, but when I try and save it I get "access denied". My domain
account is mapped to a local user, and that user is an admin on the
share.
Any ideas or gotchas I should know?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Eamonn

Where is the * servers IP defined for sip phones?
This I am sure is a very easy question, but I can't seem to find the
answer.
Here is the scenario:
cisco 7940g phone has SIP 6.3 firmware applied
the file SIP<mac>.cnf does not seem to have a place for it:

Interdomain Trust between Samba3 and 2000 AD
I am having some trouble creating a two-way domain trust account
between Samba3 and Windows 2000 Server.
The Windows 2000 server is an AD domain controller, and my Samba 3
server has an LDAP backend and is running on Ubuntu 9.04 64bit. Samba
3 is acting as the WINS server, and the Windows server has been
pointed to the samba server for WINS in the TCP/IP settings on the
network adapter.

checking trust secret failed for interdomain trust
Hi samba members,
I've searched through google, the archives and RTFM but I can't figure this out.
I've got a setup of two different offices with both their own samba PDC, wins, etc. Via OpenVPN i've set up an interdomain trust between the two domains (for now one way, but this will become two ways).
One domain is called PSW with bluemoon as PDC, the other PSWINDWG with redmoon as

Trust between SAMBA and NT server
Hello,
I'm having problems getting the SAMBA domain to trust an NT domain. The following is how I went about the exercise:
1. On the NT domain, I added the SAMBA domain A/C in the TRUSTING DOMAINS list, providing a certain password.
2. On the SAMBA domain, I executed the following command feeding the same password given in step 1, but without
success:
[root@cobra root]# net rpc trustdom

Samba 3.x and PCNetLink domain trusts
I am trying to establish a domain trust between a Samba 3.024 domain and
a PC Netlink 2.0 domain.
Currently, we are using PC Netlink as our primary Windows file server
and "NT4" domain controller. (Lets say that the domain is called LEGACY
and the domain controller LX1) Windows 2003 servers are unable to
join a PC Netlink domain (even with the SignOrSeal option disabled.)

Domain trust relationship Q
Hello All,
Is it possible for a domain server to be trusting of a PDC on
another subnet? I have 2 domains, foo and bar. I have set up a trust
account for bar on foo and
net rpc trustdom list produces:
Trusted domains list:
none
Trusting domains list:
FOO S-1-5-21-194374591-1744372652-1779375073
which seems OK.
I then issue:
net rpc trustdom establish BAR

Trust domain
Hi, All,
I upgraded my samba to 2.2.4 recently. There is one question about
trusted domain.
If I set 'winbind use default domain' to yes, supposed the domain name
is D1, a trusted domain D2, when I run wbinfo -u, what I should I get? I
remembered I will get users like D1\UserOnD1 ..... D2\UserOnD2 ... in
previous version.
Thanks in advance,

Samba DC to Samba NT4 Domain Trust
Hello! I'm trying to create a two way trust between a Samba DC and a Samba
NT4 domain both are 4.10.9. The issue I'm seeing is that while I can
establish a one way trust from the NT4 PDC to the DC using the following
commands;
net rpc trustdom add sambaad thepassword
net rpc trustdom establish sambaad
I enter the password for PDC$ and the trust is established.

MUST use the same WINS server for trusts to work. Why have two
domains?
