Saving & Upgrading Samba domain data.
Hi, I'm running Samba 2.2.2 on RH 7.1 as PDC. Anybody knows how to save the data of the samba so that if the hardware fails and I would have to install Linux and Samba on a new machine, the Samba would continue working as is. I mean, if I save the /etc/samba directory does the SID stays and all the Win2K & WinXP would see the "same" PDC (without the need to dis-join and re-join

Files to backup
Hi ppl, I have a question more then problem, if I'm going to reinstall my Linux box from scratch, what do I have to backup for the Samba to work, beside the smb.conf & smbpasswd? Are those files enough to save the configuration? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. "Only Dead Fish Go With The Flow"

Upgrading for Samba 2.2.2 to 2.2.4.
Hi, I'm running RH 7.1 with Samba 2.2.2 as PDC for network including Windows based machines and it's working just fine! But, I want to upgrade the system to RH 7.2 and to Samba 2.2.4, plus I'm going to install the whole Linux machine from scratch. I've tried to do that and most of it worked o.k., but I've missed something. I have backup the following files and restore on the

Error in IE, works in FireFox?
Hi, I have an rjs that works just fine in firefox (no errors in FireBug). In IE however it doesn''t. When I tried to debug it, I arrived to the following: 1. page.replace of some element - fails in IE with "Object Error", even if I''m replacing the element with a simple "<tr></tr>" 2. page.hide of that same element - works 3. page.remove of that

This works absolutely fine with Windows clients, but I cannot get a Samba client to successfully join the domain. I'm trying to join using the command 'net rpc join -Uroot', which after I've entered the password returns: Error domain join verification (reused connection):

No access to machine shares in Samba Domain
Hello All, I have a Linux box running RH9 and Samba 2.2.7 as domain controller. Last week, we bought a new (better!) box and migrated our Samba installation to the new box and apparently everything was working fine, until we noticed that shares created in the Windows machines are not accessible by anyone in the domain. I've read all the docs and everything seems ok, but I can't get
