trac, agilo plugin, rpm, aughghgh!!!
CentOS 6.5, with the current trac, and trac-agilo-plugin. I seem to have problems, and maybe even a bug in the packaging. I installed and got trac running with authentication. Fine. I installed and enabled the agilo plugin. Supposedly fine. Except it doesn't work. On the trac web pages, in the upper right, there's a text link labelled "admin"... but when I mouse over it, what

Problem with storeconfigs
Hello all, I have what is certainly a stupid problem on my part. I have setup puppet in a test environment and it''s been working wonderfully. I am now in the process of moving this to our production systems and I have rebuilt our puppetmaster completely from scratch using the same modules/manifests, etc. from my test system. Unfortunately I am running into an issue with what I

Slowdown when copying large files
I am currently investigating using samba on a Linux box to provide file server services on our NT LAN (I'm a bit sick of NT doing dummy spits on me). I'm running RH5.1, and have just upgraded samba to samba-1.9.18p8-51.3 (using the rpm from http://samba.anu.edu.au/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/redhat/RPMS/5.1/samba- 1.9.18p8-51.3.i386.rpm) The setup includes several NT servers, one set up as

cat with backspace and newline characters
Hi, when mixing newline and backspace characters I get the following output (see below). In the second call, the backspace character is simply not applied. Is this normal behaviour? Thank you. > cat("abc\b") ab> cat("abc\b\n") abc > [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

two 2-node clusters or one 4-node cluster?
Hello, I'm planning migration of current two clusters based on CentOS 6.x with Cman/Rgmanager going to CentOS 7.x and Corosync/Pacemaker. As the clusters and their services are on the same subnet, and there no particular security concerns differentiating them, I'm also evaluating the option to transform the two clusters into a unique 4-node one during the upgrade. Currently I'm

splitting a vector of strings...
Quick question -- if I have a vector of strings that I'd like to split into two new vectors based on a substring that is inside of each string, what is the most efficient way to do this? The substring that I want to split on is multiple characters, if that matters, and it is contained in every element of the character vector. --j -- Jonathan A. Greenberg, PhD Postdoctoral Scholar

MSDFS redirection WinXP SP2
I am currently having problems accesing our samba msdfs shares from Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000 and WinXP SP1 seem unaffected. I have attached the smb.conf and the exports files that define the shares. Running ethereal on the different clients seems to point to the fact that XP SP2 no longer seems to be using the netbios-ssn (139) port. for GET_DFS_REFERRAL instead its using microsoft-ds

rsync problem and question about using rsync with Maildir
Hi, I have a Maildir store (about 500 GB) on a linux (redhat 8) server which I am trying to mirror to another identical server. I have 4 GB of ram on both machines. I am using rsync 2.5.5. At present the machines are on the same lan (100Mbit). Everytime I run the rsync, it runs for a short amount of time, (anywhere from 5-20 minutes) and then one of the machines (either the source or the

start network installation with HP 8530w with Intel ethernet card
Hi, I have an HP 8530w laptop. I need ti instal it under CentOS 5.2 x86_64 - kernel 2.6.18-92. The network card is not recognized. I have add the driver e1000e-0.5.11.2 (dowload from Intel site). windows RPC patch crashes my sambas
Hi gang, I've been using Samba for years now. Its great, but lately I've become aware of the security issues it presents. Currently I have a setup that uses the securtiy = domain style authentication. Basically a W2K server is used for as the PDC. But after applying the recent RPC denial of service patch to my 2K server, my sambas can no longer use my 2K server to authenticate.

Any LARGE production Sambas?
Hi list, A customer was asking - is anyone doing LARGE Samba servers in production - in the range of 10-20TB or more? If so, what type of issues come up as the data sizes grow large? What architectures work well? Is there a recommended maximum TB/server? Thanks. -Mike MacIsaac, IBM mikemac at us.ibm.com (845) 433-7061
