What group is CPB\unix_group.2147483404?
Hi,
What's does a group like 'CPB\unix_group.2147483404' mean? I get al sorts of
group when I run the following kix-script that are recognizable and some
that are not. Why?
running samba-2.2.3a with domainname CPB.

DO
$group = ENUMGROUP($index)
? $group
$index = $index + 1

This is great... but it's not showing a full listing of what's in my
directory. My MP3 collection is housed in /music/. There are

Ldap and "domain admin group"
Hi,
I have tried to add a user (not a group) to "domain admin group" in
smb.conf with no success. If i use the usermanager an check the
Administrators group on the local machine there are two members,
Administrator and DOMAIN\unix_group.2147483404 and the user does NOT
get administrative priviliges on the local machine. If I add the
user to the Administrators group on the local machine

Stuttering stream
I'm using shout 0.8.0, icecast 1.3.10 on Redhat 7.2.
My stream skips all over the place. I can't even get through one song
without having to restart the stream or having icecast boot me. Most of my
MP3s are 128kbps, and that's the default bitrate in shout. I've turned on
autocorrect and force bitrate, but it still skips. Autocorrect seems to
make the time between skipping a bit

Added NT$ machine to SAMBA PDC and got this in the administrators group?
weird, just created a new machine account via useradd(mandrake 8.2) and
then logged the NT4 machine into the samba domain, by default "root" or
"admin" was not added to the administrators group, so i logged into the
local machine and added them manually. Spotted this though
under members:
NTGX\unix_group.2147483404??
what's this all about and why did "root"

SFTP is prompting for password
Hi,
I am facing a problem in migrating to SFTP from FTP
for an unix based application.
I have got 2 m/c, SRC (Source) m/c and TRG (Target)
m/c.
For SFTP connectivity, I created a Public-Key
(ssh-keygen -t dsa) in src_usr1(user-id) at SRC m/c .
Which created the necessary identification file
(id_dsa & id_dsa.pub) andthen,
I copied the id_dsa.pub into the file authorized_keys

ices refuses to load. It whines about libmp3lame.so.0 being missing. I
found the message in the archives that supposedly forces ices to compile

ideas for on-demand streaming
What you could do, if you were so inclined, is to write a shell script that
would cycle through your directories and create symbolic links in your main
directory. Not pretty at all, but would solve your issue.
Alternatively, a script could be written to cycle through your directories
to create a custom web page to display ALL songs. A little prettier and
again would solve your issue.
My script

ntadmin group
Hi,
I would like to know whether ntadmin group is already builtin? I've read the
Samba HOWTO collection and it mentions a few times about ntadmin, but there's
no saying how to define it. So, I guess it's builtin?
If not, how do I define it? Is it actually ordinary unix group?
Thank you.

A (maybe)_ easy solution to global login script for group checking
Hello
While searching the archives and googling for :
-login script to map drives according to group membership
I saw lots of complicated solutions (on-the-fly scripts, group directories)
etc. but the following works very well for me:
I downloade dthe ifmember.exe from the microsoft website, and stuck it in
the netlogon directory (not the scripts directory)

Retry: RedHat, XFS, and ACL Support
Purpose: Create a File Server that can replace our windows file server.
System Details:
RedHat 8
Kernel 2.4.18-18 SGI XFS 1.2.0
2 disks
1 for the filesystem ext3
1 for the shares using xfs
Most of the threads and articles I read about doing this told me that I
had to recompile the kernel for acl support. Then I found a post that
mention that XFS has built in ACL support. Which
