I had yam working with ncsu.edu until the things changed when centos seperated the two projects. Now I can't get it to work. This is what I am trying to use but it says "nothing to do". updates = rsync://ftp.linux.ncsu.edu/centos/$release/$repo/$arch/RPMS/ This with gatech on the other hand works but they have a 20 connection limit so I would like to get ncsu.esu working again.

bit off topic, but.... I've set up my first Centos gateway server and now setting up another server on internal network. I thought it would be nice to use the gateway servers "/var/cache/yum" as a local repository for any internal servers since it would be up to date with the lastest packages and save bandwidth. So... Hello, I added rpmforge yum repo to my yum config and then the box couldn't connect to fetch updates. I added enabled=0 to rpmforge.repo as well as add-ons, contrib, and centosplus, but i'm still getting mirror errors. I believe i've got some file corruption somewhere, but i don't see where. I can't even fetch packages in updates now, keep getting connection refused

What is the best way to specify which mirrors off a repository you want to use? Have a host with rather restricted egress rules and want to allow it to reach a couple of mirrors for each repo it needs. And, yes, I am not ready to mirror them locally.

I have some questions about the "Continious Repo". Does the "Continious Repo" replace the Centos-Base/Updates repo? Is the "Continious Repo" in a standard place on the CentOS mirrors? Ie. can I just add another line to my rsync script to get this repo? It is not possible for me to just update directly off the net (I have a slow and unreliable network connection)

While attempting to grab some packages from the repos I've been getting a lot of mirror errors. Anyone have any idea why? I've recently updated from CentOS 5 Beta2 to the final version and it went flawlessly. The first thing I did though was to update the centos-release packages per a previous post.
