What they are not doing is feeding back the print status, and not all of them are consistent. I have a HP2000C that gives me a failed to open retrying error in the W2k printers window. I found out a few things. The problem is when act closes the locks are not being cleared. I can make it work by creating an additional share just for the database that has no locking at all, but I think I am risking data corruption. Chris, I did this very thing although I can't tell you how because it just worked right without my having to do anything. I am not having the server automatically download the drivers so maybe that has something to do with it. I keep my drivers on s share and then have to go pick them when I install a printer. Now I can't use the printers, it looks like samba is trying to connect to cups even it is configured with another printing system.
