LCA in e1071
Hello there, In the e1071 package,'lca' function only works for binary data for Latent class analysis. Am I right? I would like to test the agreement amongst 6 raters for nominal data ona scale from 1-4, and conduct a latent class analysis. What package and what function may I use? Thank you very much Lisa Wang Princess Margaret Hospital tel: 416 946 4501

Linux Conf "Australia" 2010 Miniconf?
Linux Conf Australia 2010 is being held in Wellington, New Zealand from Monday 18th January to Saturday 23rd January 2010: http://www.lca2010.org.nz/ I'm planning to attend since that's near where I live. The first two days will be a series of parallel one day miniconfs, and I was wondering if we should propose a Xapian one (we have until July 17th to do so):

Winbind, RedHat 7.1, Pam 0.74-22 ohh so close to working
Hello, I have gone through the howto provided but I am not yet able to logon to my linux box using NT4 domain accounts. I can however authenticate to restricted shares and I can obtain groups and users via "getent" and "wbinfo -u". All I really need now is a working /etc/pam.d/login. I've tried examples from the howto as with others from the mailing list but I can not

Upcoming LCA presentation
As some of you may know, I'm going to be presenting CELT at the upcoming linux.conf.au conference in January. See http://linux.conf.au/programme/schedule/view_talk/187?day=thursday for details about the talk. I would like to include some references to real world applications, demos, etc., where your are already using (or planning to use) CELT. If you want me to mention your project in front of

Has anybody got ACL to work w/ debian, winbindd in a w2k mixed domain?
Im seriously thinking about changing dist. due to acl won't work as they should with debian woody. Ppl also tell me this is because of some bug in debian. So, as the subject says, anybody got acl to work w/ debian 3, winbindd in a domain? If not, hello redhat.. dataframe transposition
Dear R-helpers, I wonder if I could impose upon you for forther assistance, this time with dataframes: hopefully this will be of general interest, as I personally have found them hard to get to grips with. I was trying to transpose rows and cols and move col1 to the names. Then all sorts of things go wrong. Although the end result looks the same, page() shows the structure to be quite

RPM question...
If I have the POSIX acl support complied into my system, will installing the rpm detect this and install acl support with the samba 2.2.2 rpm for redhat? Any ideas would be great. If this is not possible, I will compile. But it would be nice to know if this is true. Thanks gang. Wade Winright "Open the pod bay doors HAL!!!" -Arthur C. Permissions on Shares
I have a strange samba share problem. I am hoping that someone can shed some light on this problem. I have a directory called /home/warez. Inside of this is music/ and warez/ I have all of my mp3's in music and all my applications in warez. I have both of these directories shared using samba as follows: [music] comment = Music path = /home/warez/music public = yes

Latent class analysis, selection of the number of classes
Hi, I perform latent class analysis on a matrix of dichotomous variables to create an indicator of class/category membership for each observation. I would like to know whether there is a function that selects the best fit in terms of number of classes/categories. Currently, I am doing this with the lca() function of the e1071 package. This function requires me to specify the number of classes

Delay in 'logon home' being set
Hi folks, Is the above possible? I'll explain. I've set up samba v3.0.25b-1.el4_6.5 as PDC. Everything Samba itself seems to work fine (at least according to every test I've come across online). However, I've spent the better part of 3 days trying to get an XP SP2 client to correctly execute the logon script. EVERY possible thread, EVERY possible question previously asked
