Printer dialogue box slow to pop up
Hi, we're in the process of rolling out Samba on Suse Enterprise Server v
9 in an environment of Windows 98, 2000, and XP computers (samba v
3.0.14a). The samba server is replacing a Windows 2000 domain controller.
The computers switched over to using the samba server as the domain
controller are not experiencing any issues logging onto the domain,
initializing their logon batch script, or

[PATCH] dsync: fix splitting login from host
Using strchr() was splitting login and host at the first
occurrence of '@' which leads to troublesome behaviour.
When calling strace one would notice the misbehaviour:
execve("/usr/sbin/ssh", ["ssh", "-lthomas", "domain.org at 10.8.13.2"
using strrch() however splits login and host at the last occurrence
of '@'.

rpcclient setprinter failes
Hi List.
We have an Redhat 8.0 machine who acts as an printserver.
I'm sharing printers via Samba and using CUPS.
Samba is 2.2.7a and CUPS 1.1.8.
The Microsoft clients (Win9x, Win NT, Win 2k) is downloading the
driver from the server.
I had no problem to install and upload up to 55 printers but now I am
not able to set the driver.
I can install more printers, but when cupsaddsmb is running

As for Debian stable (dovecot 2.2.27) -f json is missing from the manpage.

observium graphs
Hello dovecot list,
I'm in the middle of creating a plugin for observium[1] and would like
to have it create[2] statistical graphs of my dovecot server [3].
The current state can be found here:
https://image.ibb.co/efOO9a/dovecot.png
However for visibility purposes it doesnt make sense and have observium
plot two data sources with different orders of magnitudes right into one
graph. So

win 7, samba 3.4.7, error 0x000003e6 with some printers
Hello,
I'm testing windows 7 with samba 3.4.7 and I'm using PrintUIEntry to
connect the printers.
With some of those printers the connection fails (client side) with
error 0x000003e6.
The strange thing is that:
1) trying the same connection against samba 3.0.11 works (alas, no
domain functionality with that old version) and
2) two of the failing printers share the same driver with

rpcclient enumdrivers enumprinters
Hi all,
i'm new to the list and here's my first question :
I'm trying to install several printer drivers on my samba server with
imprints. I did a package with the NT/2000 and W9x drivers and the
mkprintpkg command. Then I used the command install_printer_drivers.pl to
install the files in the appropriate directories. So now i'd like to check
the drivers available and the

APW print problems with Samba 2.2.7a & CUPS, enumprinters, setdriver fail.
I'm trying to add print drivers to printers on a Samba server using a
NT4 workstations in the past this has worked. I'm currently running
Samba 2.2.7a & CUPS 1.1.17, when I attempt to add drivers to the new
printer it crashes the NT4 workstation. Prior to the workstation
crashing however it does copy the driver files to the server, it then
pauses as if the workstation is waiting

I'm using SAMBA-2.2.0 on SuSe Linux 7.2 and everything works fine except

After download from new printer drivers to the samba machine everything
works fine.
Always when i reboot my linux box i can?t install a printer driver on
my nt boxes because the printer has no available printer driver.

[Samba 3.0.37] EnumPrinters memory consumption
Hello, i discovered a bug in EnumPrinters.
It seems that it allocates many mega of memory, corrupting memory and
taking control of a memcpy in parse_prs.c:398
It leads to memory corruption, fatal (and fast) exhaustion of resources
and, probably, remote code execution.
I attach a file that can be used as a proof of concept.

The "printer drivers download" feature of SAMBA-2.2 is great.
Thanks to the SAMBA team.
I'm using SAMBA-2.2.0 and everything works fine except one
command:
$ ./rpcclient sdprint -U root -c 'enumprinters'
Enter Password:
rpc_api_pipe: cmd 26 on pipe 703e failed to return data.
result was NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL

I can't say that rpcclient log file is useful for me but

rpcclient & enumprinters for large printcap files
Here's the scoop,
Well Jeremy and I found the bug last night. Unfortunately
it will not be fixed soon. The problem is a bug in our
client side code wrt oversized PDUs. When the needed
size > MAX_PDU_SIZE in a parsing struct, we need to fragment
the PDU and use SMBwrite instead of a single SMBtrans.
Fortunately, this has not gotten us into big trouble yet.
Jeremy knows how to fix it,

Samba Print Driver Errors
Hola folks,
I'm experiencing a problem trying to get drivers to upload/download properly
with Samba 2.2.5 and CUPS. I've read the various HOWTOs and have managed to
get drivers to upload, except that it errors out, saying that it was unable
to apply the changes.
The driver files do successfully upload to the proper directory on the Samba
server.
If I try to do things by hand:

3.04 acl new user/group adding problem
Hi all
I've written a few mails to the list hoping that I might get some hint to what
mistake I've been making in configuring my samba server with acl support, but
haven't been able to figure out much to date. I'm sending some parts of my
log files with a description of my problem as a last hope-- I will have to go
through the manuals from cover to cover if I dont get an
