Since i've gotten so much help from this list with my samba issues, i've been trying to be active and help others, but heres my question. If I reply to someone, should I send it JUST to the mailing list, JUST to the person i'm helping, or both? I've been keeping it on the mailing list, but some people may want the help to come into their main mailbox. Should I send to both?

I had the same problem. You need to go into your Makefile and add the [LIBS] definition to the part where winbind.so is linked. Just take it on to the end of the line and run "make" and "make install" again. Hi! I use samba with FreeBSD 4.4. And sometimes (when i restart computer) Samba does not start. In error i have error like this server /kernel: pid 228 (nmbd), uid 0: exited on signal 6 (core dumped) Then i have to start manualy, and everything works. And there is one strange thing. Hi. I'm getting messages to the effect: Inetd: /usr/local/samba/lib/nmbd: Hangup Last messages repeat 319 times I start samba from inetd. Should I be starting it as a daemon or starting it in init.d? If you log in you will be a Windows 2000 standard user. Some applications need to run as poweruser. How can I configure samba to log in certain users as powerusers? Volker
