Hello List,
Please CC me on responses as I am not currently subscribed to the list.
Please see the following attached files for details.
Basically, Samba comes back and says the our users have no rights to create / modify / delete files on a share, even though the file system permissions seem correct and the smb.conf file looks good and the user either owns the file / directory or is listed in

Connection Refuse
Dear List,
I hope someone could give me some explanation about above
error/problem I got.
I have 2 machines, one installed RH7.3 (IP ADDR. =10.1.45.12, host name =
fk0000-msi-srv) and the other one, Mandrake8.2. (IP ADDR. = 10.1.45.13)
Both machines use Samba 2.2.3a.
At the RH7.3, I got following error if I connect from Mandrake8.2.

Re-Sharing A Samba Share via Win32 Platform
Lee,
If I understand you correctly, you want to mount a Windoze share on
your *nix box and share that out to the rest of your users. You need to use
smbmount to do this (man smbmount) and then just create a share in you your
smb.conf delineating dmask, valid users... Hope I guessed right, if I did
not, forgive me.
Cheers,
Tony

Selecting Samba Printer Port
I have a strange problem here. I have a network of Windows NT and XP clients that print to printers shared by Samba.
When I double click on the printer icon, the queue opens and it says in the title bar, "Initializing", then "Failed to connect, Retrying".
I was able to resolve this on Windows NT by created "Samba Printer Port" as a local port. Unfortunatly in

HP Jetdirect, Intel Netport, Samba, And Windows XP
Hello,
I have a bunch of Windows XP Pro machines, Samba 2.2.4, and several plotters on Jetdirect cards, and several printers on Netport 10/100 Muli-port network print servers.
I have successfully configured Samba 2.2.4 to allow Windows XP to join the domain controlled by Samba and automaticaly create its own computer account on Samba.
I would now like to setup Samba to share all the printers

UPS not recognized
Hello,
Replaced UPS Kstar Micropower Micro 1200 (managed via blazer_usb) with https://www.njoy.ro/UPS/horus-plus-2000. The latter doesn't seem to be supported.
1. I tried blazer_usb and usbhid-ups. Any other suggestions? 2. What would be needed to get it supported by NUT?

UPS not recognized
Hello,
No ttyUSB* device under /dev however the new driver has detected the UPS, the nut services are able to start, just "upsc -l ups" sais unknown error and doesn't return any information. Could be due to the driver unable to detect number of battery packs as reported by the nut-driver.service startup? How can I fix that?

I've been generating functions using a builder and then
compiling them with ExecutionEngine::getPointerToFunction().
Is there some way I can get compilable IR from that?

drawing filled countries according to data using map('world')? - follow up
Hello,
this is a follow up on my previous inquiry regarding the use of the map
library (Becker and Wilks 1993).
Using the 'world' database I would like to draw filled countries in a world
map so that the filling colors of each country corresponds to the value of a
policy variable "fix.float" at a specific "year" (the goal is to visualize a

IVR Menu and VoiceMail quality
I have really tried to do my best googling and wiki-reading before asking
this question. I couldn't find the answers there so I throw myself at the
mercy of the list...
I get excellent quality for SIP -> PSTN and PSTN -> SIP calls, however when
I or anyone else calls from PSTN -> * the voice menus are oftentimes very
choppy. Sometimes they are absolutely perfect and I cannot tell

CD Baby using FLAC to archive 40,000 CDs
Hey FLAC gang -
Just thought you'd like to know CD Baby has switched to FLAC for archiving the 40,000 CDs we have in stock.
Luckily HD space is down below $1/gig so we got a 6-terabyte RAID-5 box set up for about $7000.
Got the FreeBSD boxes churning away night and day, ripping and archiving.
I'll do a more formal press release for ya in a couple months as we're further along, but
