Hi, sorry if this is a common problem that I just couldn't find in the documentation, but I've been trying to be able to access my shares on a Mandrake box from a Win2k client. There is a user on the Mandrake server named "mike", and my user name for Win2k is also "mike" (I originally tried with Administrator, with user mapping, but that was giving me problems so I

I am fairly new to R and I am writing a script that would take a file, as an input, and generates a bunch of graphs out of it. My first task is to be sure that the file is of the right type by looking if there is a valid barcode in it as in (the barcode is beetween a double and single underscore): library(tkWidgets) ############## #Loading a file #testing if valid if not kill the execution

I need to extract barcodes from filenames (which are located between a double and single underscore) as well as the directory where the filename is residing. Here is the solution I came to: aFileName <-

incorrect password
Hello list, Currently I have upgraded again to Linux-Mandrake 7.0. I don't think I'll upgrade anytime soon. Nonetheless, I have made tremendous inroads with Samba. With RedHat 6.0, I could not get the Linux box to show in Windows Networking Neighborhood; now I can visually see it and it prompts for a password. Cool, I said no! It's just a password issue and I have it fixed in no

smbspool
Hi, We have unified logons on Linux and Windows clients by using a Windows 2000 AD domain with pam_winbind/nss_winbind on linux clients, the problem is, smbclient and smbspool still require us to enter a password instead of using the logged on users credentials. Is there anyway to pam-enable smbclient and smbspool? Hesham S. Ahmed __________________________________________________ Do You

Can't get in without a password
I have access to three machines: A: Mandrake 7.0, OpenSSH 2.1.1. B: Mandrake 5.3, SSH 1.2.27. C: Mandrake 6.1, OpenSSH 2.1.1. I can get from A to B, or B to A, without a password, but I cannot get from A or B to C without a password. sshd_config is identical on A and C. My public key is in authorized_keys on C, and all files in .ssh and .ssh itself have mode 600 and 700 respectively. C is behind

File Disappearance after copy?
Hi. I'm converting a group that was using Mac OS X Server (we were dissatisfied) to Mandrake PPC Linux with Samba. The Mandrake-supplied package is version 2.2.7a-8mdk. So far it works great - but we have a serious and odd problem that I couldn't find in previous postings to this list. When I copy files from an OS X server to this Mandrake/Samba server they usually disappear. Which is

Under Linux, though, the opening and sometimes closing of windows from R Commander produces identical and repetitive error messages (in dialogue boxes and mirrored in the console): >"Warning: X11 protocol error: BadWindow

Installed like a charm but I have a few questions regarding SMB with a WINNT network. I have been reading the newsgroup and am confused on a few issues. What we want to do: Replace a Windows PC acting as a printer server with linux Samba version 2.2.1a
