smbmount codepage/iocharset settings vs NT4
Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up a backup server for a somewhat
antiquated NT4 server. Backup server is CentOS-4 (~ RHEL-4),
kernel-2.6.9-11.EL, samba-client-3.0.10-1.4E, rsync-2.6.3-1,
LANG=en_US.UTF-8. NT4 shares are mounted on the server and rsynced to
local disk.
This setup is working pretty well, however on the NT box there are some
files with names containing odd characters like

smbmount codepage / iocharset problem w/ W2k
Hi:
I have written to this list once before regarding the same problem.
(ref smbmount problem on 03/28/2005)
Paul Gienger sugested asking the "kernel boys" as they maintain smbmount.
Maybe my problem wasn't deserving of a reply from them, maybe I subscribed
to the wrong list. Can someone suggest a kernel list where I may get a
useful reply?

mount.cifs: iocharset/codepage
I am trying to access a share on a samba server using charset
iso8859-1 from a client using the same charset via CIFS.
"smbmount" has separate options for the server/client charset,
using "codepage=cp850,iocharset=iso8859-1" gets the correct
behavior in my case.
Unfortunately, the parameter for specifying the server codepage
doesn't seem to exist in "mount.cifs"

codepage-conversion for smbclient
Hi list,
I've browsed through the archives, but I didn't find a answer for
this:
I use smbclient to access a windowsNT 4.0 server.
I get only '?' for filenames which contains Umlauts.
F.e., a file called "Verkn?pfung" is displayed as "Verkn?pfung".
I use following mount-string:
mount.smbfs //SERVER/Share /home/xxx -o rw noexec nosuid nodev user

Hungarian codepage problem using smbmount
Dear Samba Developers, Dear Urban,
This was my original letter. I hope you get it correctly this time.
Maybe it was too big, now I reduced the size of this letter.
My goal is to make a Linux fileserver up and running with automatic
archiving functionality in a mixed Windows 2000 - Linux network and
since the beginning of February I could not solve my problem, so I
write to you hoping that you

How can I get the interpolated data?
Hello,everybody!
I am a beginner of R.
And I want to ask a question. If anybody would help me, thank you very much
ahead.
I want to plot something like a response surface, and I find the "rsm"
package.
Some commands are like this:
#code head
library(rsm)
CR = coded.data(ChemReact, x1 ~ Time, x2 ~ Temp)
CR.rsm = rsm(Yield ~ SO(x1,x2), data = CR)
summary(CR.rsm)
contour(CR.rsm,x1~x2)

rsm.segundo.orden <- rsm(R ~ Bloque + SO(V1, V2), data =
DATOS.Codificados)
Obtengo el siguiente modelo:
R = 103.92 -2.16

[PATCH] ia64/pv_ops: paravirtualized istruction checker.
This patch implements a checker to detect instructions which
should be paravirtualized instead of direct writing raw instruction.
This patch does rough check so that it doesn't fully cover all cases,
but it can detects most cases of paravirtualization breakage of hand
written assembly codes.

Digium Wildcard TDM400P call pickup timing
I have an analogue trunk to an AT&T Definity.
It has a DISA context defined.
From a Definity handset call the analogue port extension 1008 and wait
for dial tone from asterisk. It takes between 3&4 rings.
Likewise from Asterisk SIP handset <PBX Access No><PBX Extn> takes
nearly 10 secs to ring.
Is this configurable?

Codepage inconsistencies
Hello.
I'm having a lot of trouble trying to mount a share
from a NT4.0 (US_english) machine using samba-2.2.8a.
When I mount the share using samba, somehow the '?' and '?'
characters are displayed as 'o' and 'a'.
(other western chars such as ?,?,?,?,etc are ok, I have problems
only with '?' and '?').
It's interesting to note that:

Predicción de valor máximo en superficie de respuesta, con paquete rsm
Hola compañeros de la lista. Estoy aprendiendo a usar el paquete
"rsm" para superficies de respuesta. Siguiendo este ejemplo todo va
bien, hasta que trato de obtener el valor máximo predicho para la
variable de respuesta en los valores de x1 y x2 estimados.

mounting CDROM without mapaping UC to LC
Hi!
this is surely a newbie question, so I should know the answer, but
I'm fighting with mounting a CD such that filenames are NOT mapped to
lowercase (I need to use its on-board tools for accessing files on it
while mounted on Centos 6.5, and those tools assume uppercawse, since
they assume the entire world runs Windoze.)
but despite my best efforts, it keeps being mounted with UC-LC

Russian CHARS
Hello samba,
How can mount (smbmount) MSWIN2003 resource from Linux client
(RHEL4U2) to see russian.
I am using following command:
# smbmount //srv2/v$ /mnt/backup/srv2 -o 'credentials=userpass,iocharset=KOI8-R,codepage=koi8r'
What I should use env. variables or additional parameters from this
command (smbmount) ?
I see only that (but need russian and eng):

Accents in filenames on vfat filesystem
Hello.
I am trying to create a text file that contains an accent like '?' in it's
filename on a vfat filesystem. This generates an error like the following:
"test?.txt" E212: Can't open file for writing
I have made a 'modprobe nls_cp850' and 'modprobe nls_iso8859-1' to load
those needed modules.
Then I mounted my FAT32 partition like this:
