fast parallel crawling of file systems
Hi, I use a disk space inventory tool called TreeSizePro to scan file
filesystems on windows and linux boxes. On Linux systems I export
these shares via samba to scan them. TreeSizePro is multi-threaded (32
crawlers) and I run it on windows 7. I am scanning file systems that
are local to the linux servers and also nfs mounts that are
re-exported via samba.
If I scan a windows 2008 server I can

Getting custom field data from the page through crawling
Now on to my next question.. I've got the search and indexing working well for now..
My next quest is to implement a system of creating custom fields in the index. Our site
is fully dynamic. That is, every page is generated in PHP and there are enough
different kinds of pages that I wouldn't want to get into the business of indexing the
DB directly, so I think that using htdig to crawl

This is intentional. The workload of the server was pretty huge w/o this.

[LLVMdev] llvm.org robots.txt prevents crawling by Google code search?
One of the tools I use most frequently when coding is Google codesearch.
Unfortunately, llvm.org's robots.txt appears to block all crawlers from
indexing the llvm.org svn archive. This means that when you search for an
LLVM-related symbol in code search, you get one of the many (possibly
out-of-date) mirrors, rather than the up-to-date llvm.org version. This is
sad.

The Sims 1: iKernel.exe
I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I searched, and didn't find:
I'm trying to install the Sims 1 from CD, and I figured out that you
need to cd to /media/cdrom0 to launch it. I ran wine ./start.exe, and
it launched the screen fine. Exit works. All the buttons work, and
clicking Install launches the install process (I think it's
/media/cdrom0/Setup/Setup.exe). Then,

Performance problem with outlook & outlook express
Hi,
I've set up a dovecot server under redhat enterprise 4.3 with the
basic configuration(mbox).
Everything runs fine under webmail(squirrelmail) and thunderbird.
When I try it under outlook/outlook express tough, it takes a couple
of minutes after the authentication to get all headers where it takes a
couple of seconds under thunderbird(both windows and linux version).
I tried

Outlook or Outlook express.
Anyone succesfully installed Outlook, or Outlook Express?
If you have, and can come up with a procedure or guideline or HOW-TO I would
much appreciate it. The only reason I use NT at work is to run Outlook to
connect to our production Exchange server. I would like to be able to show
that I don't need Windows for anything at work.
Can anyone help out?
Thanks,

Dovecot SASL vs. Micro$oft Outlook and Outlook Express
Hi,
I have just started using Dovecot (1.0.10) SASL behind my Postfix (2.3.3).
Everything works fine, as long as I send the SMTP AUTH command manually.
When using M$ Outlook (2000 and 2003) and Outlook Express 6,
authentification always fails. Turning on the Dovecot auth debug on reveals
the reason:
Dovecot SASL expects, in accordance with the standards, the following format
of the SMTP AUTH

Microsoft outlook or outlook express and roaming profiles
Hi all,
we are using samba 2.2.6 with windows xp SP1, and roaming profiles.
We would like to have email settings (servers/usernames etc) with the roaming
profiles, but outlook (either microsoft, or express) store their settings in
a path that is not included in the profiles
we do not care about the actual emails, since the mailserver is IMAP, we only
care about settings
Has anybody

Outlook + Outlook Express
Hi
I am having problems with users accessing their maildir mail stores
through dovecot
I am working on version 0.99.11-1 (on fedora core)
It seems to be when the email size is large (450KB +)
The errors are (the server disconnected unexpectedly)
Have turned on the three Outlook and Outlook Express workarounds I found
but no luck.
Have read through logs and looked for clues but am just

outlook express 6 imap client workaround
My outlook express users connecting with imap are having issues with
client timeout. The wiki says to add oe6-fetch-no-newmail, but when I
add that workaround I get this error in the logs:
Jun 2 10:00:13 mail dovecot: IMAP(username): Unknown client workaround:
oe6-fetch-no-newmail
I'm using 1.0b7. Any ideas?

Outlook Express
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find any answers.
How do you get Outlook Express to work?
(Actually I can find answers, but they all amount to "Use Thunderbird", the lot of them. So the question still stands.)

Outlook Express / POP Problem?
I have a new user who is using Outlook Express with POP and seems to be
having a problem downloading messages with attachments. Watching the
logs it starts to download and then disconnects. When I use squirrelmail
which is IMAP it all looks good so it's not a corrupt mailbox.
I'm running Beta8 and using MBOX files. The problem seems to be related
to POP and/or Outlook. Has anyone run

Has anyone been successful in getting "Outlook Express" to do click to dial?
